| The 10 Commandments | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| So you think you do a pretty good job of keeping the ten commandmets. You sure havent killed anyone, you don't steal, you don't use the Lords name in vein. Lets see oh you have no other god before God, and you don't comment adultry. So far so good. Seems you are doing pretty well. Now lets look a little closer at the commandments, you might be suprised. |

| Thou shall have no other Gods before me. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This one is pretty simple. However beyond the belief of statues, or something we bow down to, it also includes: Money, leaders, or anything that you hold above God. You may say that you don't but your actions are different. Sunday rolls around and you are to be in worship and you boss calls and sets up for a major meeting that can only be held that Sunday, it's a million dollar deal. Do I put my job, the money, or God first? Or how about the business owners who open their stores on Sundays, greed comes before God, and then they keep others from chruch by making them work, now you can not work or lose your job. So do you put God first or greed. I see a lot of people now who just might be breaking the very first commandment already..... are you? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Thou shall not make any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in Heaven above or on the earth beneath, or that is in the water beneath | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Does your church practice this? How many churches do you go to that have a picture of Jesus? What kind of camera did they use? where did the photo come from? If there was a picture then why so many different versions? So how is it we put on our walls? The last time I read I believe angels were in Heaven created by God, I don't think we have seen them and if it were possiable we don't have pictures of them either. That would still be a likeness of somthing in Heaven. Get the picture?????? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Do not take the Lords name in vain. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This one is kind of easy, you hear this on tv anymore. Yet we will continue watching a show that allows this showing our support of the usage. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it Holy | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There are several differences in this one by people. The original Sabbath Day was on Saturday, It has been changed over the years to Sundays. I see this one broke all the time, business open, due to greed, people working. Not much to say here, this one is self explanatory, and very rearly observed in the U.S. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Honer your Father and Mother | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This one is easy, just tell them you love them everyday right?... This one is a lot more than that. What is honer? Talking back, sneaking around at night, lying, stealing from. Going out getting drunk, do drugs get arrested, that disgraces your family, I hear kids talk back, fight with or embarrass thier parents in public places. Go to Wal-Mart you can see it everyday. Anything that would bring dishoner to your parents. Have you snuck out got drunk? Got pregnaunt with out marriage or plan (pre-marital sex), been arrested for stealing, drinking, or anything. Practiced homosexual activity? Killed animals, lied where you were at, where you were going, what you have been doing? We might have dis honered our parents before, might be doing it today? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Thou shall not Kill | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Very few of us have broken this one right? If we are christians, we shouldn't have, unless we read more...God says that if you hate your "brother" you are a murderer at heart. How many people have you murdered this year? Why did he not say sister, is it ok to hate her? Brother is not just a blood brohter, it is a brother in Chist, we are all brothers in Chist. We have all gotten angry and said "I hate you" to someone. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Thou shall not commit adultry | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This one is one I hate personally the most, I don't understand why anyone would disgrace themselves and God. That's the physical adultry, God also says: Whoever looks at a woman in lust has commited adultry in his heart. That is the same for women. So if you have looked at some movie star, or some one other than your spouse and had lustful thoughts you have already broken this commandment with out physical adultry. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Thou shall not steal | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The taking of somthing that dosn't belong to you. However not paying your bills is stealing, if you recieved goods or services and did not pay the bill you have stolen. Credit cards, light bills, magazines subscriptions ect. Bankrupcy, even somthing as small as a paperclip, it dosn't matter the vaule it's the act. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Thou shall bear false witness against you neighbor | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The bottom line here is don't lie, Have you ever told a lie, to get out of trouble, blamed someone else, exaggerated things, what you have, what you have done, where you have been, then God see's you as a lier, The Bible say's Liers have there place in the lake of fire. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Thou shall not covant | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Wow, I could write 10 pages on this one, it's a never ending sin. Just consider everyone guilty of this. We all want what others have, Hey I want a car like that, Look at his wife, she's hot, I wish I had a job that paid that much, I wish I had three weeks vacation, I wish, I wish I wish.. We can never be happy with what God has provided for us, we always want more. |
