SILVAROLI surname:
The Silvaroli surname of Italy, is found in Oratino, Larino, in Santo Stefano, Ripalimosani and Campobasso City of Campobasso province, Molise region, Italy (known as Abruzzo e Molise before 1963) as well as in the town of Silva, in Teramo province, Abruzzo (along the mid-Adriatic Italian coast).��I've found several spelling variations of the Silvaroli surname while researching the civil records of decades past.��By far the most consistant spelling is that of SILVAROLI.��Other variations are; �Silvarola, Silvarolo, Salvaroli/Salvarola, Selvaroli/Selvarola, Selvarella and Silvarole.*
Four more variations can be found in the USA.�� Salvarola, Silveroli, Silvey and Sylva/Silva.��In Brazil;��Silverol.
More towns: ��There are two interesting town names to be found in the northern Italian region of Emilia Romagna and one in the Lazio region.��The first is a very tiny town named Salvarola located just outside of Terme D. Salvarola (home of the Salvarola Health Spa) in the comune of Sassuolo, Modena province, (ER) Emilia Romagna region.��The second is a small town named Selvarola in the comune of Quattro Castella, in the Reggio Nell'Emilia province, (ER). ��The third is the small town of Selvarella located in Soriano nel Cimino comune, Viterbo province, Lazio region (north of Rome).��So far, I do not know if the Silvaroli surname exists in these towns (in any form) but I think they are worthy of note.

*[One reason for the surname spelling variations is certainly the fact that there was no formal written Italian language until after 1870. In the Italian penninsula, births, deaths and marriages were recorded primarily by religious scribes until Napoleon decreed the institution of civil records in 1809. When civil records were instituted, the clerks wrote in the language of their community (local dialects). The people of the Italian penninsula were influenced by and adopted words of many languges; Etruscan, Samnite, Roman, Greek, Arabic, Albanian, Persian, Turkish, Spanish, French, German and more.]
