CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Intro to Salsa & Mambo/NY Style, Parts A & B

The fundamentals and building blocks for creating a dance and enjoying salsa. Includes the basic steps and turns with simple variations for two popular styles danced in clubs.   Emphasis is given to timing, the lead and follow connection, and quality of movement. It is highly recommended that beginners take both A and B, and will often find it helpful to repeat part B before moving on to the intermediate level.

Intermediate NY Style Salsa (aka Mambo or "on 2")
Intermediate Salsa (aka "on 1")
More advanced turns are introduced as well as ways to combine turns. Lead and follow technique is refined. Additional emphasis is given to freestyle footwork, body styling, and musicality.
IMPORTANT: Each session of these classes has new turn patterns and footwork so you can repeat it many times and keep learning new material. It does, however, repeat some important basic technique that is very helpful to review and will improve your dancing.

Cross-Body Lead Clinic
The cross-body lead is the move that makes the dance! Sure, you may do it all the time, but make yours fantastic and instantly boost the quality of your dancing. Then learn styling and surprise variations that you can easily work into any repertoire or use to spice up your beginner moves.
