The next salsa workshop will be on November 1st !!

The topic is: "Spins, Spins, Spins!"

Do you have trouble keeping the timing?

Do you often lose connection with your partner and find
yourself struggling to get back into the rhythm?

Do you want to improve your spins?

Do you want to increase your dance repertoire?

and enhance your salsa experience?

  • All workshops will be held at: Rhodes College (1125 Howe St.)

    Here are the workshop details:

Workshop #1: Transitions, Connection and Momentum
Connection with your partner is very important in any social dance. How do you connect with a partner? How do you use the momentum from your partner? How do you transition from one dance move or pattern to the next without looking awkward? We`ll give you the techniques to address these issues and to make you smooth on the dance floor.

    Workshop #2: Footwork & Styling
We will cover several footwork steps and patterns ("shines" from beginner to advanced), and how to connect different steps or different patterns together. We`ll also give you theoretical and practical methods to add style to your footwork. In addition, we'll cover the essential spinning techniques you will need to spin on your own, which is necessary for the footwork combinations.

Workshop #3: Body Isolations and Latin Body Movement
Dancing is not just about steps or turn patterns -- it`s also about how you move. In this workshop we will give you a variety of exercises that will help develop your range of motion, flexibility, muscle strength, coordination, and an overall awareness of your body`s movement. We will also use these concepts of body movement to add flavor to our dancing.

    Workshop #4: Spins, Spins, Spins
Have you ever seen someone spin 5 or 8 times on their own? How about 10 or 20 times with a partner? How can they do it? We`ll teach you all the essentials you need to power your own spins and the techniques to spin with a partner.

Workshop #5: Spinning Techniques, Styling & Intricate Patterns
This one combines the best concepts from our other workshops. Learn the esentials for spins, while learning a complex pattern and add style with controlled body movement combinations.
