Information:

We are always looking to recruit new members (both men and women). One of our goals is to develop our routines for local performances. However, not all team members are required to perform! Some of our members are there just to learn the routines for fun. Some members are with us to learn and practice new moves. Some members are here to develop or improve their dancing style for social settings. If this interests you, then by all means please join us!

To watch our previous shows, check out our video list: Video List

Also check out the clips on YouTube: SalsaSeb Performances.

Practice Sessions: Currently our team practice is postponed.

Location: Rhodes College, 1125 Howe St. (Downtown Vancouver).

Fee: There is a monthly fee of $20 per team member to cover the costs of studio rental and training.

Team Log:

Sorry, I haven't kept up to date with this journal log. We have worked on a new routine, and did some free-style demos recently. Check out our performance list to see what we've done!

For the past several months, Sebastian has been working with his previous team, Salsa Obsessions!! We put on several shows recently -- they went well. Excellent job everyone! But now the team has disbanded again...Luigi is off to Hong Kong, and Naomi is going to Thailand. Maybe well get together again next year? In the meantime, Sebastian will try to start a new team....

We are trying to get the team back together after a few months of being on hiatus. Our first practice session will be on Saturday May 12th. Hope to see you there!!

It has been a slow start for our team in 2007. We have now decided to put practice on hold for one or two months. Please send Sebastian an email for when the team will start again.

Now our team is currently working on a new routine. We expect to be performance ready in six months...probably more. After the Vancouver Congress, we have a lot of work to do...a lot of new material to practice. I love it!

Awesome! We did a show at the Rowing Club for the long weekend -- it went even better than our first show! Great work everyone -- thank you for practicing so hard!

Great Job everyone! We performed at the Hot Jazz Club, and it was fantastic! Except for a small glitch in the music, we did really well -- so well in fact that we've been asked to perform at the Rowing Club salsa party this long weekend! Thank you to all who were able to make it out to watch the show!

August 24th, 2006
Our entire team is finally performance ready! We are looking to do a couple of shows sometime this week or next. One of our favorite team members, Kayoko, will be leaving early September -- we hope to do at least one show with her before she goes.

My partner, Jin-Young, and I successfully did our performance at the Law Courts on Friday April 14th. We were really satisfied with the crowd's response. Thank you Vancouver and City Salsa Vibe! Our performance was also shown on TV the following week on Sabor Latino.

All good things eventually come to an end. Jin-Young has returned to Korea (last Sunday) to complete her studies. Hopefully she will come back to Canada, so we can dance up a storm again! Vancouver Salseros miss you Jin-Young!

Now our team is working on a revised routine. We are always looking to recruit new dancers. So come on down and check us out!

Over the past several months, we have gained a few and lost a few team members. Some are currently traveling and will return in a few months. Some have more pertinent matters to attend to and are unable to practice with us at the moment. Alas, real life gets in the way of doing what we really want to do, doesn't it?

On the other hand, me and my partner, Jin-Young, will be performing a duet this coming Friday (April 14th) at the Law Courts. We still have much practice to do before our show. We've finally completed our routine -- now we are working to perfect it!

July 11th 2005:
Team practice began today.

We expect to be 'performance ready' within one year. It will, however, depend on the team as a whole (i.e. we will work on a policy of "who is ready and who isn't ready"...this will determine who performs at any one time when the majority is ready).
