Infantry

Retrospecting my life, I still find the 6 on-and-off years that I spent on this game rather strange and in the same time nostalgic-worthy.  I still remember how I first got dragged into the game by Jeston and got me into playing TheArena.  The time that we spent being noobs was actually quite fun, and the immense joy that we had when we first discovered the ability to circle strafe was certainly out of proportion and fked up.  Being able to play TheArena was quite an experience, and I really enjoyed being able to climb up the ladder and eventually be able to claim my own fame in the game (the e-peen game is certainly very addictive).  It was unfortunately that we eventually were forced to migrate into a new zone and adapt to the new survival rules, but it was a new and very exciting learning experience.  Being able to establish my name in the league and eventually becoming a "celebrity" (no I don't really want to be cocky but it's the truth) was rather fun.  It is still really strange, considering that I have only played less than 20 matches throughout my entire career in this game but I still managed to make a name for myself.

The game certainly had many flaws, especially the elitist community, but somehow the drama and competition made it so addictive and it kept drawing people like me to come back to the game despite several attempts to quit.  I had the pleasure to climb up the social ladder every time I returned to the game and being able to get onto the administrative part of the league was something that I am grateful to have done.  It was after I became an admin of the league that I realized how much burden and workload ZT had gone through the past few years; Managing a group of 300 people was certainly no easy task, especially when it was a semi-anarchy, considering the players were not obliged to follow the rules and it is under their free will to play this game.  But it was certainly a very good learning experience to prepare me for the bigger shot later on in WoW.

There are actually many people that I have managed to met in Infantry.  I actually see them day in and day out back then, but it's just that I don't really know what to write about them lol.  I really like theArena gang who I've fought together for so many epic fights: AV gang, TAA crew, beaver, jeriho, redlight, torp, and countless others.  Kudos to the countless other squadmates that I had the privilege to play with: Gero, X5, Khaos, Arc, Sneaks, Smako, MalAdroit, Emp, Seifer, Molo, Deph, hed, RR, IS, Omni, ZT, Gamms, EO, lulu, AJ, Kt, Ashe, and the many countless other that I did not mention.

Arcades

My first impression of Arc was "the infantry god." When I first started the game he already made a name for himself as a legend of CTF. He was a goal that I wished to attain. But as time goes, I have made my place in this game and the opportunity came to let me climb up the elite ladder as Putaz invited me to join Shadow Syndicate. It was for sure an offer that I couldn't resist and in the end I joined the squad. It was then that I started to get to know Arc and realize that as much as he is a good leader, he has quite a big ego and a very defensive person. He'll be backing up the squad with numerous reasons and excuses everytime the squad falters and do everything he could to bring it back up to the top. It greatly favors him being a philosophy major and a law school student. But in general he is quite a loyal guy and someone who can be counted on so long that you are on his side. He'll do everything he can to back his member up, as shown in the Chuckie incident. But in the same time he'll look for the same thing in return when he's in the same boat, and if you failed to do so he'll be mad at you greatly. Overall, I like Arcades, more as a friend than as a leader, and the time we played together in Infantry and eventually Lineage II was quite a time to look back into.
