Mr. Wrightman
Mr. Wrightman is definitely a unique Social Studies teacher of its kind. Maybe
to some he is not that good of a teacher as there's no shortcuts to do well in
his class, but I personally think that his teaching style is pretty innovative.
It's true that you will never really catch his drift as doing well in his class
requires a lot of thinking rather than relying on understanding the text
material. This on the other hand made the course fun and challenging. I
certainly had a blast during his notorious debate sessions when we have to
impress both "The Judge" and him. The weekly news quiz was like death march and
something that everyone hate to confront, but as much as it was stressful and
tedious, it was actually quite informative; in fact the political cartoon
session greatly improves our scope of thinking and our take on politics.
Many thanks to you, you are the greatest Socials teacher I've ever had! You have
made history fun and exciting.

Mrs. Schroth
If Maggie is the biggest mentor in my life, then Mrs. Schroth was certainly the
teacher who has geared me the most in my future years. In the eyes of some
people, she is like a teacher from hell as she is very demanding to her
students. I remember how we would have endless amount of assignments from
Question of the week to term projects that became highly competitive. Although
it was one of the more harsh years of my life, I have greatly learned from her
teachings. From doing the four different projects during the school year I have
greatly excelled in researching skills and writing techniques. It has also built
up my competitive self to strive up to the top of the academic ladder. The
weekly compositions were somewhat challenging, but it sure did open up my
creative side and improved my writing skills. The way how she forced us to
memorize French vocabulary and abbreviations of chemical elements also paid off
a long way as it saved up valuable time during high school years.
Despite the fact that Mrs. Boardman was a wonderful teacher, it was definitely
unfortunately to not have learned under Mrs. Schroth for an extra year. Thank
you and your great work will be greatly appreciated by us throughout our life.

Maggie Scherf
Maggie is definitely the mentor who has greatly influenced my life. She has
taught me throughout elementary and high school; what I learned from her greatly
determined my academic fate. When I first started taking lessons from her I had
great difficulty getting accustomed to the English language. But because of her
patience and wisdom I was able to climb up the ladder from the bottom of the
Grade 5 food chain to the apex in Grade 7, and continuing to do so in the high
school years. Thanks to her I have learned not only the simply the language, but
also history, culture, and life in general. I remember how I had absolutely no
understanding about the English literature and European history but gradually
from her I learned about cannons of writers including Hemmingway, Satre,
Fitzgerald, Socrates, and Plato. In fact, I believe that my choice of vocabulary
and writing syntax is almost a replica of hers.
Maggie is a very cheerful and outgoing person and one who is great to chat with.
She always alleviate stressful situations and is a very good counselor. I guess
she should have completed her course and take up a new career path. Perhaps she
is like a well of endless zeal that everyone can tap from.
Without her teachings I certainly wouldn't have gotten to where I am at. So I
greatly thank her for everything she has done for me and wishes her a bright
future in the years ahead.
