SWC

Although I have only really studied in SWC for a year (well not even), I am very thankful to have the privilege to meet some really cool and interesting friends. Jonathan was actually the one who guided me to adapt to the new environment so many thanks to him for that. Through Jonathan I was able to meet some really great friends like Ray, Kin and Ho, Robert, and Jason, Raymond. It was always fun hanging out in the cafe playing big 2 and chatting about hockey.

Being able to attend IB was a very unique experience. I was able to meet many smart minds and do some very fun activities. The retreat that we had was a blast with many interesting activities like skits and talent shows. The survey that we had to do in Granville Island for Geography was pretty fun since we had to run around harassing people to do our 1 minute survey. The 5 minute writing in Henderson's class was really awesome, especially when Matt always gave a twist to the topics assigned.

The friends that I met during IB have really interesting characters. I always had a hard time talking with William and Ivan when they have one of their profound conversations. Talking with Biplob on the other hand can be quite amusing when he came up with some interesting topics. It was also quite cool how Steve Inglis and I will just go on about RO and chat nonstop for the entire Math class until he finally convinced me to play the game. But the funniest person that I've met during IB would have to be Bertin. Berty is such a humorous guy and having him sitting beside me during Geography was quite a fun experience.

It was rather unfortunate that I ended up bailing out early before the first year even ended. Many thanks to my councillor (Too bad I already forgot his name) who gave me so much support and helped me get back on track for the grade 12 year so I could actually graduate. Being able to attend SWC is something that I will sure not regret.

Ray Lee

Technically Ray is the friend that I have known the longest, since kindergarten in Hong Kong. It is very coincidental to have meet him again almost 10 years later when I went to SWC. I certainly had a lot of fun hanging out with Ray and co during Lunch, mostly playing Big 2. The weekly (was it?) hockey gatherings were quite memorable and it was unfortunate how we never formed an intramural hockey team. Being with the SWC gang was a totally experience compared to the PW gang. Maybe the difference in school culture makes things unique and interesting. I am really grateful to have known Ray and certainly wish him the very best in the future (are you really going to become a PE teacher?)

Victor Liu

I really don't know a great deal about Victor, but the Victor I know is very ambitious and hardworking. I actually did not like Victor at the very beginning when he slammed me down in our John A McDonald debate. I guess I kind of took advantage of Victor's talent and sided with him for the next debate. Later I found out that he was also applying for the IB program and we supported each other in the process and became friends. It was very fun arguing with Victor in some of our weird repetitive conversations and he would usually comeback by calling me impudent (although I have looked that word up many times I to this day still had trouble knowing what it means). I really admire how Victor has a very clear scope and plans as to what he wanted to do and actually set out to do it. Having known Victor has given me a better view of life and how you should seize you chances.
