Friends
It is actually quite sad that I never really managed to make many good friends
outside teh organizations that I am affiliated to. Even the two Ms. Yau's that I
met was due to the fact that they are daughters of family friends. In fact, I
really don't know them that well, despite the fact taht we used to see one
another in almsot a weekly basis. But both of them had been very helpful to me
throughout the 11 or so years. They ahve been very good audience of my problems
and it was actually qutie relaxing talking to them.
I always wished that I knew how to play the piano; you two are so lucky.
Janice Yau
I guess Janice is the only instance in my life where friendship started off in
the wrong foot. Now that I look back at it, I still do not know why I kept
bullying her throughout elementary school years. I would just ninja into her
room and steal her favorite snoopy doll whenever possible. Some people said that
little boys bully girls out of affection, but it was really not my case. I
actually had fun doing it even though I don't know why; I guess I was just 心理變態
haha. Eventually it escalated to a point where we would not really play with
each other and we would just ignore one another during gatherings. I remember
how back then I would actually become quite OCD and made sure that I did not sit
next to or facing Serena and her during dinner.
Gradually this was changed during high school years and we started to socialize
like normal friends. I think our friendship especially improved when our
families went to the Alaska Cruise. It was quite an interesting experience
making fun of the 3 princes of pizza and messing around on the ship. It was
during one of the formal nights that I realized that she could be very gorgeous
and attractive. Don't get me wrong though, she is like a little sister to me and
always will be. I think since then we talked quite a bit more on ICQ and got to
know each other a bit better. Unlike talking to her sis, the conversations
between Janice were usually quite simple and nothing too deep; but for some
reason I find her to be the best girl to talk to, perheps because she's like a
little sis to me and we don't see each other much so we don't really mind
discussing some issues.
Janice is quite an example of a 外剛內柔 girl. She might look very 堅強 and 男仔頭 on the
outside, but on the inside she is quite girly (or so I perceive her to be). She
is quite 薄面皮 too, so she can't really be make fun of much haha. As much as she's
a 粗心大意 person, she is actually quite caring.
Maybe to you I was never like a big brother, but to me you'll always be like a
little sister. Really glad to have known you!
Serena Yau
If Janice is like a little sister, then Serena is definitely a elder sister
figure to me. I also did not really have a chance to talk to Serena much until
later on in high school. Whether or not it may be the fact that she studies
psychology, Serena is a very good listener and is willing to listen and counsel
through your problems. Because of that I chose to turn to her to consult my
problems most of the time. I always wish that I have an elder sister that I can
talk to and confide and Serena is someone who filled that role (whether she
liked it or not haha).
Serena once said that we probably would have become very good friends if we
never fought when we were young. I suppose that it is very true and it's quite
unfortunate that it took us so long to rebuild that gap. But I am very thankful
to have you as my friend and someone who can dump all my problems to.
