When the stars and moon have eased their way through a daytime sky. And the troubles of the world have worried themselves to sleep.
When the noiseless ball of yarn falls unwravled on the livingroom floor while the cats lie motionless on the sofa.
When the last child has laughed and the last cry of an infant has been soothed.
When one lover has kissed another and stillness creeps into the room where they lie in one another's arms.
When the last word has been spoken between the broken. And the last tear has fallen where he lays his head.
When every word has been said and every task has been done.
When the last hound barks and the flicker in the streetlamp burns to a black space in time.
When the gate slams in the wind one last time.
And my eyes are closed.
I drift off to dream of spending another day with you...
