Aish
tells the real story...
Charged
with being annoying and unconscionable, Aishwarya Rai replies to some allegations
that she has been accused of in the last few months. And before you speak
to her, you are told that no questions about Salman Khan would be entertained.
And then this pretty
porcelain princess has been hushed about all her matters. Be it her affair
with Sallu Miyan or the troubling of producers right from Indra Kumar to Sanjay
Bhansali.
Aishwarya Rai has
not even responded to allegations that she dumped Rakesh Roshan royally when
she was to shoot for him for the ad starring her and Hrithik Roshan. Model
Aditi Govitrikar finally took her place in the ad.
If you look at the
ad, you will understand why she said no to it. Anyway, here’s Ash with
her side of the story.
Why
do you put up a façade of indifference when the entire world says that you
have been very bad and unprofessional towards the Roshans. The whole episode
of you dropping from the Coca Cola ad was made out in such a manner that it
seemed that you were motivated by someone.
If you look up at
the word unprofessional, you will never find it linked to my name at all.
Talking about movies, ad-films or even live shows, I have always been good
at my work. Not in one place can you point out that I was unprofessional.
My strong undertaking to the kind of responsibility I take on is something,
which has been appreciated by many.
Then
why are everyone talking about your unprofessionalism. There are so many people…
See. I will tell
you that I am quite an emotional person. I get hurt very easily. So I do not
try and hurt others. But there are some people who do this for fun or for
publicity. People are not even interested in checking out certain facts from
me. They just want to lambast me because they enjoy it.
Coca Cola is the
company who makes the drink. I have spoken to them and they are very happy
with me. I have proven to be a good model for them and they even told me that
they look forward to working with me for a long time to come.
But
why the silence…
I have not been talking
about it, because I do not give this much of an importance. This matter is
quite irrelevant because I have sorted it out with the relevant people and
they have no problems with me.
So
you didnot ditch Hrithik?
Don’t be silly.
It is false, baseless.
Can
you tell us the real story?
The Coke officials,
the Moranis and Rakeshji were aware that I could not come to Mauritius to
shoot for the ad. In fact my replacement for the ad Aditi Govitrikar flew
to Mauritius much before even Hrithik and the crew did.
And
…?
In cinema, I am looked
at like glamour goddess. But in ad films I am just a model like anyone else.
But then I have been a model before the Miss India contest itself and I have
been a top-level model. I have my own way of working out my ad where we sit
and discuss the storyboard, the kind of clothes to be worn, the make-up, the
location, the look and feel of the ad et al.
So
you did have a discussion with Rakesh Roshan?
My first meeting
was with the Moranis. They were coordinating the ad. The briefs that they
gave me didn’t excite me at all.
Hrithik is the hottest
sensation of the day. I am top model and actress. So Any project involving
both of us had to be good. It had to be something of substance. Unfortunately
these ones were not. The briefs were very ordinary. So the Moranis came up
with a new one. This was a damn good one, and Even Rakesh Roshanji was also
very happy with it. So we wanted to go ahead with that one.
So
what went wrong?
The location was
the reason for confusion. Every location from Rajasthan to Bangkok and Singapore
were discussed. By this time I realised that my dates would not permit me
when they fixed it up with Mauritius and the shooting dates had changed from
the earlier ones. The reason was that, there are no regular flights to Mauritius.
You might be aware
that producer Rahul Gupta’s film Hum Panchhi Ek Daal Ke has been stuck
up for a long time and was being shot at Hyderabad with many children and
the hero Sunil Shetty. The producer had managed those dates of so many people
with a great difficulty. Mr Gupta has already faced so many problems before
in the shoot. He has already faced huge losses. I didn’t want to burden
him anymore. I want this film to release soon.
Meanwhile the storyline
was changed again and so did the costume. I had no option but to back out
of the ad.
Did
you convince the Coke officials about it?
Well, they did come
and meet me at Hyderbad at the shoot of Hum Panchhi Ek Daal Ke. I explained
everything to them in detail. I gave them a blow-by-blow account and they
agreed that I was justified. And there were no hard feelings.
