14th October 2003:
I had completely forgotten about this website, but as I was clearing out my favourites
,there it was.
So I thought I'd actually try and do something with it,
and refresh my limited HTML skills at the same time.
God forbid anyone actually reads this,
it will get better, I promise.
Heh heh heh
28th October 2003: 17th November 2003: 18th November 2003: 15th December 2003:
Stop press news: I have made an offer on a house.
Now the scary part starts.
Also, I've been blagged into a mortgage,
once a buyer, always a buyer.
My god, what have I done?
Well, the house purchasing continues.
The Cheshire Building Society are putting up a fuss about my "unconventional" living arrangements.
To be honest, one more comment and I'll tell 'em to get stuffed - there's no way I'm going to go into the gory details just for them to say no ANYWAY.
I notice they're quite happy to take my money.
Surely I have to have a mortgage offer before they cash my arrangement fee?
I’ve just figured out how to put pictures onto these pages. Lucky me, eh. Perhaps I should dig out that old website of mine?
Second thoughts, maybe not.
Note to self: Do not buy multiple Sharon fruit until one has been tested for yack factor.
How can something look so nice, and then suck all the moisture from your entire digestive tract?
Mortgage update: Cheshire Building Society are a bunch of charlatans. The woman who was dealing with my account went off sick, so no-one touched my case for two weeks. Then, because it had been hanging around, it got sent to the senior underwriter who is now demanding all the stupid fiddly little reports that the original surveyor recommended. Even the Corgi gas check. Ever tried to find a heating engineer in December?
So, the Damp Proofing people went out last week (they will of course recommend a new damp course, otherwise they'd be out of a job), the structural surveyor is going out today (I hope), the gas man is going out next Monday, and god only knows when the electrician will make it.
And this is going to cost me an absolute fortune.
And all this before they will even consider a mortgage offer. Question: If the financial advising woman knew the Cheshire were strict, which she did, why did she recommend them on a house more than 100 years old where there are going to be problems? Could it be that both are allied to Royal Sun Alliance? Hmmm?
Do not touch the Cheshire Building Society with a bargepole. If this sale EVER goes through, I'll be off like a shot. They may live to regret their no redemption penalties scheme.
