Voluntown, New London County, Connecticut Probate Records, pp. 185-192.LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT (22 December 1845)
In the name of God amen I Lot Larkham of Voluntown County of Windham State of Connecticut being far advanced in life and infirm in body but of a sound and disposing mind memory & understanding & calling to mind my own mortality & that it is appointed unto all men to die do make and ordain this to be my last will & Testament and first of all I give & recommend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the dust from whence it was taken to be buried in a Christian like manner by my Executors hereinafter named hoping & trusting through the merits of a crucific Savior that I will be raised again at the best day to a glorious immortality
After my just debts and funeral charges are paid out of my personal estate by my executors hereinafter named which I order
Item 1st I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sally Larkham all the property of every name and nature which she brought with her when she came to live with me also one cow and one swine to be hers and at her disposal forever I also give and bequeath to my said wife the use and improvements of one third part of all my real estate with the appurtenances thereof during her natural life
Item 2nd I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Daniel K. Larkham one dollar to be paid to him by my executors hereinafter named in one year after my decease this with what he has already had is what I allow him out of my estate
Item 3rd I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Erastus R. Larkham one dollar to be paid to him by my executors hereinafter named in one year after my decease which with what he has already had is what I allow him out of my estate
Item 4th I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Alice K. Kegwin wife of Amos T Kegwin one dollar to be paid to her by my executors hereinafter named in one year after my decease which with what she has already had is what I allow her out of my estate
Item 5th I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Lancey L. Larkham one dollar to be paid to him by my executors hereinafter named in one year after my decease which what he has already had is what I allow him out of my estate
Item 6th I give and bequeath unto my beloved son John A. Larkham one dollar to be paid to him by my executors hereinafter named in one year after my decease which with what he has already had is what I allow him out of my estate
Item 7th I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Betsey O. Larkham one feather bed Bedstead under Bed cord and Bed Clothes belonging to it one Iron Kettle and one iron pot which with what she has already had is what I allow her out of my estate
Item 8th I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Sally Ann Larkham one Feather Bed Bedstead under Bed Cord and Clothes belonging to the same to be hers and at her disposal forever
Item 9th I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Mary J. Larkham one dollar to be paid to her by my executors hereinafter named in one year after my decease to be hers and at her disposal forever
Item 10th I give and bequeath unto my beloved son William H. Larkham all the rest and residue of my estate both real and personal of whatever name or kind to be his and at his disposal forever.
Lastly, I do nominate constitute and appoint my beloved wife Sally Larkham and my beloved son William H. Larkham executors of this last will and Testament hereby revoking and making null and void all other and former last will and Testament or writings in the nature of last wills and Testaments by me heretofore at anytime made and rectifying and confirming this and only this to be my last Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of Dec. 1845

Personally appeared David Colvin George Colvin and Elisabeth Douglass and made solemn oath that they saw the testator Lot Larkham sign & seal the foregoing instrument and heard him publish and declare the same to be his last will Testament that they subscribed the same as witnessed in his presence and in the presence of each other and that they verily believed the testator to be at this time of a sound and disposing mind and memory.

EXECUTION OF THE WILL (11 June 1847)

ss Voluntown June 11th 1847Sally Larkham and William H. Larkham the executors named in an instrument purporting to be the last will and Testament of Lot Larkham exhibited the same in Court and moved to have approved the said instrument having been proved to be the last will and Testament of said deceased is hereby approved and ordered to be recorded in the records of this Court

On motion of Sally Larkham and William H. Larkham executors to the last will and Testament of Lot Larkham late of Voluntown within said district deceased
This Court doth appoint Elisha Potter and Benjamin Gallup as freeholders of the town of Voluntown to appraise under oath all the estate of said deceased and make a correct inventory thereof

Larkham executors on the estate of Lot Larkham late of said Voluntown deceased This court limit six from the first publication of this order for the Creditors of the estate of said deceased to exhibit their respective claims against the sum of the said executors or be debarred a recovery thereof according to law And said executors is hereby directed to give public notice of this order by causing the same to be published in a Newspaper printed in Norwich and posted on the sign post in said Voluntown nearest the last residence of said deceased
