Welcome to page 2 of my journal.
September 4, 2001.
Well I finally made it below 170lbs. I am so happy. I could just bust. Still feeling wonderful and loving shopping. Well, maybe loving shopping a little too much. But when you use to not be able to shop at regular stores and now you can, its just great. Looking for bargains is awsome, too. Use to I would have to look for things that fit. Not really if I liked it or not. The prices were awful, also. My goal for a few months has been to get down to 143 lbs. But, I think that I am going to raise it to 153. I never really believed that I would ever say this, but I don't want to get too small. I mean where I am starting to droop or start looking sunken in. But from what several people are telling me is that I need to start slowing down. I know the mirrow lies to us, so I am going to take the advise of several poeple that I know would not lie to me about this. So what if I don't loose 200 lbs, that was my previous goal, I am not going to complain about 190lbs at all. The pic to the right is a post op pic that I took last month. It was my lates post op pic. My weight them was 171. Look a little different, don't I? I sure feel different. Bought a size 14 slacks, yesterday. Made me so happy that I bought 2. Little snug around the waiste but that will be taken care of with a couple more pounds. I still have about 15 lbs to go till I reach my goal. My present weight is 169Lbs, as of a few days ago when I last weighed.

Saw someone today that I have not seen in a while. Her name is Kelly. She had surgery in November of 2000. I didn't really recognize her. I thought it was her but was afraid to say anything. Then her sister told me it was her. I couldn't believe it. She looked GREAT!! She was tall & thin is the best way to explain her. She said that she was doing great and she sure looked the part. She is now thinking about having a child. She is concerned because having the surgery less than a year ago. But, she is using the internet and finding people that is in the same situation as herself. Man, it is amazing how this surgery is affecting people's lives.
My husband, Jim got a call from Dr Wright's office today. He was so upset when he called me. Lisa, Dr Wrights nurse had not recieved approval for his evaluation consult from our insurance co. So she was explaining to him the cost. Well, I called the insurance co. Man, did I get the run around. I don't understand why it is so hard to get coorperation. To make a long story short I am going to call Dr Wrights office tomorrow to see if they got the approval faxed to them. Keeping my fingers crossed. His appointment is set for Sept 28th. Been waiting about 6 months for this, then insurance problems. Don't understand what the deal is!!!!!!!!!!
Well, wish me luck. I'll need it.,

Well made it to the Dr. for my 1 year follow up. Man, I can't believe its been a year already. Dr. said my labs looked great and everything was going good. My husband talked with him about my weight. Jim, my husband, keeps telling me that I have lost enough and I need to stop. Well, Dr Wright agreed with him. Man, how long have I waited to hear those words. The Dr said that I did not need to loose any more weight! I have never heard this from my Dr. My primary Dr always said "You need to loose some weight" I have heard this all my life. It sure feels good to not need to loose. I hope everyone that stives for this goal makes it. It sure feels good. He told me to wait about 4 months then I could see a surgeon about my tummy tuck. He wanted me to stabilize at my present weight for about 4 months. Went and had lunch with a few people from the support group in Nashville. Had a very nice lunch. Can eat cheap now. I just eat a little of Jim's meal. It works out real nice. People at the resturants has been very nice about this. I just ask for an extra plate. I tell them I am going to eat a little of his, I'm not very hungry. Never been treated bad by a waiter or waitress. Most have been very nice about this. I just can't see ordering and paying for another full meal to eat very little of it. Jim says it helps him, too. Use to he would be miserable after eating a full meal. Now he feels a lot better when we leave the resturant.

Now waiting to hear from insurance Co re Jim's surgery. My total weight loss has went from 343lbs on Sept 26th 2001 to 163lbs on Sept 28th. That is a total of 180lbs lost in 1 year. Very happy with this.

Getting ready to leave for vacation. I have lost a little more since last entry. I now weigh 159lbs. Wanted to loose a little so I wouldn't have to watch so close on vac. We are going to Orlando, Fl for 1 week. Can't wait. We are really excited about getting away. I could not of done this 1 year ago. I could not of walked from the parking lot at Disney to the entrance gate. Now I can! Want to ride all the roller coasters that I could not fit into before. More after Vacation.

Sept. 2001

Well we made it back from vacation. We had a wonderful time. We walked and we walked. It was wonderful. I rode all the rollercoasters and all the rides that I wanted to ride. I didn't have to worry if I would fit. I didn't have to feel like I was stupid for wanting to do this. I also bought my first Halloween Costume since I have been an adult. I always wanted to wear a French Maid outfit. Well here it is. We did not go a halloween party so I did not wear it out of our Condo. But my husband really liked it. When we got home from Vac got a letter from Insurance Co while we were gone. They denied Jim request for surgery. We are going to appeal.
More later.
Oh yes, I gained 5lbs on vac, but I have already lost it. This surgery is a great tool. I could not of done this before surgery. Take care.................................
