Moose Jaw has a population of I think 45,000 (who knows anymore with all the old people dying off) and is smack in the middle of nowhere and I for one am proud of it.. You don't realize how much you miss something until you're gone from it for so long.. it sorta grows on you.. |

This green and yellow are Saskatchewan colors so I thought it was wierd I chose them.. anyways.. Believe it or not, BC people. there are no mountains here! Wow.. yes all flat land.. and maybe it is 'the gap' but it's our gap and you people can stay away if you don't like it.. just kidding.. we love you anyways despite your naivety.. |

A friend once told me that Moose Jaw has very judgmental people and is very cliquey.. maybe.. in a way.. but I have seen that although people are a little more accepting of other people who differ from their norm (in places like BC or Alberta) we are all the same fucking judgmental people and that is sad in it's own way.. I think a place is what you make of it.. I don't feel judged in Moose Jaw because frankly I don't give a damn what anyone thinks of me.. I know who I am.. I am not a size 3, I'm not a bar whore (usually) and I don't have my hair dyed blond and straight to match my group of friends.. So in this way.. Moose Jaw does have it's cliques but one day these girls will realize there is more to life than what they are experiencing now.. Maybe one problem is that some of these people have never left the safe little world of Moose Jaw and they don't know any better.. maybe they never will..
But speaking of safe.. This is one thing I am proud to say is our best characteristic of the Jaw.. The fact that I can walk to my car ,in the dead of the night, alone, sometimes half cut, and still feel safe.. I wouldn't have to worry that there is a high possibility that I will be raped or mugged or murdered for the little amount of cash I would be carrying.. I don't need a male escort to my car.. Because when there is a murder in MJ, everyone hears about it.. it's not last page news like it is here in Vancouver or BC.. It's front page, holy shit, this doesn't happen to us, news.. And that makes me feel good.. because I would actually feel safe raising my kids in MJ.. letting them walk to their friends house all alone.. So we should be proud of who we are...
