Bear
Meet Bear!  Bear is a 1-1/2 year old black lab mix who weighs approximately 61 pounds.  He joined our family on March 18, 2002.  He is very loveable and makes a great watch dog.

Outdoors Bear tends to be a playful dog (he loves to play with the hose), but inside he is more than content to play "dog potato."  He spends much of his day lying on the bed - his favorite place - either sleeping or looking out the window.  Bear loves it when Jeff comes and takes him for a walk.  The lab in him takes him straight into the water!  Bear is the first dog I have ever owned that really enjoys toys.  He loves soft toys with squeakers the best.  He usually has his toy close by.

Bear has had the "pleasure" of being around small children before.  He has been pulled and poked by children.  He is very good with Nathaniel and always goes over to sniff him.  But, when Nathaniel crawls towards Bear, he quickly moves out of the way.

Bear is a terrific dog - loving, obidient, and friendly.  We are blessed to have him in our family.
Lucy
Meet Lucy!  Lucy is a 1-1/2(ish) year old pomeranian/chow chow mix who weighs approximately 33 pounds. Lucy also joined our family March 18, 2002.  Lucy is a happy girl and will never fail to make you laugh.

Lucy is our little comedian.  She is quite the character and being a puppy at heart, is always looking for "trouble."  She is often the instigator and will "attack" Bear in play.  Although the smallest, she tends to be the dominent dog.  Gustav is Lucy's best friend.  They spend much of the day "fighting."  Lucy will often take the cat's whole head in her mouth during play.  She is very gentle and never hurts him.

Lucy also loves to go for walks with Jeff. She loves to run and will either run at full speed or pounce and sprint like a deer.  Although she is the smallest of the dogs who go for the walk, she is one of the fastest and the most agile.  She can turn on a dime.  One of Lucy's favorite pastimes is chasing the vacuum cleaner.  She gets very excited when I pull it out of the closet and can hardly wait for me to turn it on.  When I vacuum, she runs all around it, but never barks.

Lucy is wonderful with Nathaniel.  Nathaniel loves to crawl over Lucy and to "pet" her.  Lucy just lays there and lets him have fun.  I couldn't ask for a better dog around a baby.

Lucy truly is a little lovebug.  She loves to lick and is always bidding for your attention.  She brings our family lots of love!
We are excited to announce the newest member of our family - Gustav!  Gustav is a 6 month old domestic shorthair cat who was adopted from the humane shelter on May 5th, 2002.  We brought him home May 8th from the vets.  Gustav has quickly settled into our home and our hearts.

He is a very happy kitty, and is a true lap cat.  He loves the attention and his food.  He has gained about 2 pounds since we brought him home (he needed it).

Gustav is can be quite the troublemaker and loves to run around the house.  I often find him playing with one of Nathaniel's balls.  He really enjoys "stalking" the dogs, especially Lucy.  He will lie under a chair and "strike" out at a passing dog with his paw.  Gustav is still a kitten and it shows.  When he is playful, he will often attack a passing leg!

Gustav is also great with Nathaniel.  I couldn't have asked for a more baby friendly cat.  Poor Gustav.  I am trying very hard to teach Nathaniel to be gentle with the kitty.  He loves to pull Gustav's tail!  Gustav just sits there and let's him have fun.

Gustav is a great little kitty, and we are very glad to have him in our family!
