Kaddish (a prayer for the dead) was released on Morbid Records from Germany. This album has 10 tracks, 2 of which are the most memorable: 1.The Fading - this is the opening track of the album and also the first video ever of an Israeli band to be played on MTV's "Headbanger's Ball". 2.The controversial "Ha'ayara Bo'eret" (the Town's on Fire). This cover song is a song that has always been identified with the holocaust. The release of such a song by an extreme metal band caused a stir of emotions in Israel and the issue made it all the way to the Israeli parliament and was also featured on prime time TV shows. Thanks to "Kaddish" Salem was chosen as one of the best forth coming promises in metal by MTV and Kerrang magazine. |
