Biome: Ocean
The 9 Fire moons, 5 of which the Schooner Dolphin is native to, appear covered 4/5 of lava. But, though the substance will burn things unprotected things in it, it is actually a kind of red acid. The substance is much thinner than lava,
and even a small amount thinner than water. This is what allows the schooner dolphin to function at top speed. To survive in the lava on this planet, most creatures have developed a protetive film on their skin. Like most other bioforms on these moons, the Schooner Dolphin must surface and bank itself on a rock to recover this film before the acid burns through it. There is not much life on land, because what land there is is only one of hundreds of islands. We do not know all that much about the acid sea life because specialized eyes are needed to see in the acid.

The Schooner Dolphin is one of the fastest creatures on these moons. It eats mainly Lava seals and fish. Most of the time they hunt alone, but sometimes they pair up with 1-2 more Schooner Dolphins. Their attack strategy is to charge at prey from behind, at an amazing 120 lmph. If one is attacking a school of fish, it will charge will charge in and thrash around, chomping it's beak furiously. If it's prey is a Lava Seal, it will ram the seal and stun it, then have a feeding frenzy.
The Schooner Dolphin plays a valuable role in the fire moons ecology. It is the their equivalent of a great white shark or a killer whale. It is a top predator on 4 of the 5 moons it occupies.

Juvenile Schooner Dolphins hunt in packs of other juvenile Schooner Dolphins, called squadrons.
They eat mainly fish, and cannot stay in the acid for long due to the fact that their Parrolofix Gland is still developing. This is the gland that creates the protective film on a Schooner Dolphin's body, and most creatures on these 5 moons also have a Parrolofix gland. This disadvantage places them as one of the sole targets for what land creatures their are, ecspeccially for the dominant and sentient species on the planet, the Molgeras. Molgeras also hunt adult Schooner Dolphins in special boats made to float on the acid. Though there are many many Schooner Dolphins on the planet, their meat is suddenly in high demand and we are afraid for their future.
