| Skeletor (shown here at an April 2002 book signing in Richmond, Virginia) was born April 22, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana. He attended the University of Notre Dame (class of 1967), where he studied political science and international relations. Unable to find work in his chosen field after college, he bagan acting, a skill at which he found himself talented. He has appeared in numerous productions, from The Man Who Came to Dinner to The Importance of Being Earnest to Richard III. In 1973 he enjoyed a brief stint with Chicago's elite Steppenwulfe theater company, and in 1977 starred in a low budget, critically acclaimed film called Moreau's Sorrow. In 1981, he auditioned for, and was offered, a starring role in the television series Masters of the Universe, for which he is most widely recognized, and also starred in the film of the same name. After the show's cancellation, he returned to his first love, politics, and made a successful bid for the Indiana state senate. It was at this time that he began writing his autobiography. Following his term, he began writing an opinion column for the Indianapolis Star, which quickly grew in popularity, and in 1989, was syndicated nationwide. By 1996, he had over 50 million readers, and used that forum to propose a final settlement to the Middle East problem. Unfortunately, his proposal was not met favorably by the Palestinian Authority. He did, however, use the newfound respect he had garnered in that effort to run successfully for the United States House of Representatives, where he served one full term, and a year in his second, before retiring to focus on his campaign for the Republican nomination in 1999. |

| Skeletor began work on his sixth book, a political treatise for the War on Terror, in March. He also decided to return to stage acting, playing Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream in New York's famed Shakespeare in the Park this past summer. In November 2000, President George W. Bush offered Skeletor an appointment to the State Department, but he refused. Skeletor is currently considering an offer by WABC to host his own talk show immediately following The Sean Hannity Show. Skeletor has also turned down an offer from director Wolfgang Peters to turn Lamentations into a movie, but is toying with the idea of taking CBS and Artisan Entertainment up on thier offer of making his epic poem "Ziusudra" into a made-for-TV movie. Skeletor lives in Indianapolis with his wife Mona, and thier two dogs, Porthos and Demetrius. He spends about two months a year on public speaking tours, and continues to write a syndicated opinion column carried by more than 275 newspapers nationwide. He has no plans to run for the presidency in 2004, but may run for the US Senate in 2006. |
