(1) Realistic Understanding
Accepting that change is inevitable.
* Note carefully the changing mind and
abandon ego grasping and clinging.
* Observe changes in our society and let
go of unhealthy attachment.
(2) Realistic Aspiration
Cultivating the motivation of kindness.
* Take responsibility for oneself and care
for each person in our community.
* Radiate loving kindness and compassion
to all sentient beings without exclusion.
(3) Realistic Action
Causing no pain.
* Behave in a way that demonstrates respect
for the Whyalla Core Site and all its inhabitants.
* Act with an attitude of tolerance and
understanding towards all suffering beings on planet earth and throughout
the entire universe.
(4) Realistic Speech
Speaking truthfully and helpfully.
* Communicate with honesty and openness
in our group activities.
* Speak frankly and thoughtfully with all
people in the wider community.
(5) Realistic Livelihood
Upholding self-esteem of self and others whilst working for the Dharma
(universal spiritual path).
* Value the contributions of each member
and all who are working with us.
* Honour all contributions that help the
Dharma.
(6) Realistic Effort
Applying wholesome effort.
* Build and maintain our Meditation Centre
in a manner that upholds the best practice principles
of Ecologically Sustainable Development.
* Encourage others to live in harmony with
the ideals of community and environmental sustainability.
(7) Realistic Concentration
Concentrating one-pointedly to balance the mind and body.
* Concentrate on our group meditation practices
and teachings to help facilitate life-long learning for self and others.
* Focus the mind and help others through
peaceful social action.
(8) Realistic Mindfulness
Living and working in the present moment.
* Engage mindfully with each other as we
work towards fulfilling our goals to benefit others.
* Be mindful of the interconnectedness
of all living and non-living phenomena as we participate in broader community
processes.
