AN: Konnichiwa minna-san! Wellz this is my first time writing an inuyasha fanfiction just to let you all know. This is some what of an AU fanfic in where the shard hunt is over and�.well ya don�t want me to spoil this now do ya? Oh and just to let you know, I might end up changing the title. Please read and review! Hint: the more reviews Yukime gets, the more Yukime will write.
Together for Eternity
The quest for the Shikon no Tama was finally over. Inuyasha-tachi had fought a long hard battle against Naraku. They had won, and gathered the last couple of shards from Naraku�s still form. With a bright, blinding white light, the shards became one. The Jewel of Four Souls was finally complete.
Kagome had told the group a week ago that she�d be leaving for good soon; being that the Shikon no Tama was complete, and that she truly didn�t belong in the Sengoku Jidai. When Inuyasha threatened to just drag her back like he always did, she�d told him, and everyone, else, that Kaede would be sealing the well once she was gone.
Sadly, the day had finally come. It was decided that Kagome would take the whole Jewel back with her to protect. Kagome had just finished her good byes to Kaede, Sango, Shippou, Kirara, Miroku, and all of the village folk. The only person left was Inuyasha. The last and most hardest to bid farewell. Kagome, Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, and Shippou had gathered by the well to say goodbye.
Inuyasha�s face held an agonized expression. Not only because of Kagome�s crying, but because he�d never see her again. His one true love. Kikyo had only been a crush, he�d realized earlier that day. And unlike Kikyo, Kagome was his soulmate. He heard her voice, and finally looked up to see tears freely falling down her beautiful face.
"H-hai, Kagome?" the crack in his voice was clear, he was holding back unshed tears.
"Ano... guess this is s-s-sayonara, Inuyasha."
There was a loud silence within the group. Sango slowly tugged Miroku and Shippou away to give the two a little privacy. When they were gone, Inuyasha slowly moved up to Kagome, and held her in an awkward embrace.
"Inuyasha..." Kagome gasped. It was the first time he�d held her (AN: I know he�s hugged her before in the manga, but I told ya already, this is somewhat of an AU fic.). Slowly, Inuyasha began to stroke her soft raven hair. On the inside, he was fighting an inner battle. Inuyasha�s sensible and tough sid lost to the side that cared deeply for the girl in his arms. � Aishiteru� he whispered softly, lovingly, and a bit apprehensively, not knowing how she�d respond. Kagome beganto cry even more, burryiing her face in his chest. � Aishiteru. I love you too, Inuyasha.� They held onto each other tighter, not ever wanting to let go; wanting this one moment last a lifetime. Inuyasha let go slightly so that he could kiss he softly and sweetly on the lips.
They stayed like that for awhile. Enjoying each others presence and closeness. They probably would have stayed like that forever, if it wasn�t for the growing glow of the Jewel around Kagome�s neck.
"Kagome why�s that damn Jewel acting up?!!"
"Wakaranai... don�t know."
The glow of the Shikon Jewel faded. Both were equally confused, but more so because they found that they could hear the other�s thoughts as well as their own.
"Kagome?" "Inuyasha?" "Why can I hear your thoughts?" "How the hell should I know?!!" "Inuyasha?" "Yeah?" "Maybe the Shikon no Tama did this."
"What d�ya mean?" Inuyasha said aloud.
"Well...it gave off that strange white light...and then we found ourselves thinking to each other..."
"Feh! So we can think at each other now." Forgetting that Kagome could hear him think, he thought miserably to himself 'but that doesn�t change you going home.'
'I know.' Kagome responded to his absent thought, suprising Inuyasha a little. "But if we can think at each other here, then we should be able to think at each other when I�m gone. Ne, Inuyasha?... "I guess we�ll just have to try that out, huh?"
"Yeah...but I want a picture of all of you first."

After a bit of explaining about what a picture was, they took five pictures, one for each of them, and returned to the well one last time.
"Sayonara, minna-san..." said a sad Kagome.
"Sayonara Kagome-san"
"Sayonara Kagome-sama"
"Ja-ne, K-k-kagome!!!" says a bawling Shippou.
Inuyasha, trying to look unconcerned, gave a weak "feh!" in reply.
"Inuyasha..." Kagome reaches up to his neck, and takes the prayer beads off, handing them to Inuyasha. " Ja ne, Kagome," whispered Inuyasha so that only she could hear him.
"Ja ne, Inuyasha."
She then approaches the Bone-Eatter�s Well as though it were her worst enemy, and in a way, it actually was. Slowly she lifted her legs over the lip of the well, and slipped down into it. The blackness of time travel engulfed her one last time, and she was back in the modern day.
AN: Wheh! That took me awhile to type! Could anyone please tell me what Sango, Miroku, and Shippou actually call Kagome (Kagome-chan, -sama, etc.)? Much thanks would be given.
