Character Description

Sakura Kinomoto is the main character of Card Captor Sakura. She is the one that (accidently) let out the Clow Cards and woke up Cerberus from his (30 year!) nap. At first, she was reluctant to be a cardcaptor, but once she knew that the cards would be hurting innocent people, she officially became a cardcaptor.

Sakura is a pretty much energetic girl. She cares about everyone, but she can be a bit of an airhead. One good example of her airheadedness is that she never gets any hints!! I feel quite sorry for Syaoran...

Anyhow, even though Sakura is only 10 years old (at the beginning), she can be very persistent and powerful when up against a Clow Card. She never gives up, and her main phrase is "Surely, it'll be alright."

Sakura lives with her big brother Touya and kind father Fujitaka. Although very young, she stays home alone a lot. Her mother sadly died when she was only at the small age of 3 years old, but Sakura still loves her, and her family always keeps a picture of her in their kitchen (and everywhere else).

Although it is not emphasized, Sakura is cousins with Tomoyo and is the niece of Sonomi Daidouji, Tomoyo's mother. The connection is a bit strange. Sakura's mother, Nadeshiko, was cousins with Sonomi. Sonomi was deeply in love with Nadeshiko, as to the reason why she was against the marriage of Nadeshiko and Fujitaka. However, Sonomi is still very fond of Sakura as she is the daughter of Nadeshiko. When Sakura and Tomoyo find out they are cousins, they don't say anything about it. In fact, it seems like they aren't cousins at all...
