Character Description

Meiling Li, although not present throughout the whole series, is one of the main characters. She is considered a "CardCaptor" as well. Meiling is distantly related to Clow as well, because she is Syaoran's cousin. However, she possesses no magical powers. ^^;

Meiling strives to be perfect - especially for Syaoran. Many times, she burns cakes trying to surprise Syaoran with one. She has an undying spirit and never gives up at anything she's doing! ^^ She's also overly confident about herself, giving her an edge. But inside, Meiling just wants the best for Syaoran...

Fighting skills are vital since Meiling has no magical powers. She is a prowess in martial arts, and she almost beat the Fight Card by herself! If Syaoran would ever get hurt by a Clow Card, Meiling would jump to the rescue.

Unfortunately, we don't know anything about Meiling's parents or family. All we know is that she is cousin of Syaoran, and that she followed Syaoran to Japan from Hong Kong. In the series, she lives with Syaoran in his apartment with Wei, the family butler.

Meiling is engaged to Syaoran. When they were young, Meiling lost her favorite bird that Syaoran's mom gave to her as a gift. Syaoran, not wanting Meiling to cry, ran out into the woods during a severe storm and did not return until much later. He had retrieved the bird. Since then, Meiling always liked Syaoran and eventually grew to love him. She wanted to marry him when they were ready, and they were engaged by her wish.
