The Hope Card appeared at the second movie
of Card Captor Sakura. Before sakura changed this card, it's (or her) name
is "the nothing". Clow made the 53rd card which has a negative force to
balance the positive force of the 52 cards. This means that her power is
equivalent to the other 52 cards (wow, what a strong card!), because if
there's no balance, the other cards may bring destruction to earth.
At the start of the second movie, we thought that she is a villain (a very cute one ^^) who were trying to steal the sakura cards. But then, in the theme park, she addressed them as her 'friends'. That's the point that we got the idea. Then finally, Eriol called sakura and tell her about something he "remembered" of Clow's memory. So it's confirmed, she is a card after all. But the problem is, for Sakura to be able to change her into a Sakura card, she needs to exchange it to her most important feeling (as I have said at the story article ). It's pretty hard for her (or both of them, syaoran and sakura). she needs to capture the card and change it before it turns everything surrounding the new mistress into nothingness (every card she takes, there's something vanishing around the neighborhood.) So sakura needs to capture and change her ASAP. In the end, sakura managed to change it without loosing her feelings. I don' know why, perhaps because she merged to the unnamed card. (did I answered the question you had a while ago? ne?) This card indeed is different from all of the other cards. She is so strong and powerful (to be able to destroy almost the whole town.. nahh she's weak. Joke!). She could express her feelings well (she could talk) and the one that differentiate her from the rest is that she has her own feelings, she is a very lonely card (who wouldn't be lonely if you were left alone in the dark, cold basement for so long?). and now, she wants her friends back. She feels that sakura is dragging them away from her, but in the end, she trusted sakura and allowed sakura to change her, to be with her friends. In other words, the hope card is the nothing and the unnamed combined together. |
