FLOWERS AND BEARS ALONG THE LAKES OF DEOSAI

Deosai Plateau separates Baltistan, the home of lofty peaks from lush green valley of Kashmir. Situated at an average altitude of 3800 meters, this grassy plateau is the abode of few rear species of wild life such as Brown Bear, Markhor Black and Brown Coats and Marmot. Crystal clear water lakes are in abundance with amazing varieties of wild flowers. In summer, one can find nomades tending their herds on the plains. Deosai can also be crossed on horseback. In winter, it offers marvelous opportunity of cross-country ski.
