Straight
but not narrow
|
Trunks:Heh.
Sorry. Anyway, what was unusual about them was that Haruka
and Michiru (Amara and Michelle) had a real loving relationship.
When you DO see homosexual couples on TV, they are usually
seen as hyper-erotic horny beasts. Their relationships are
not taken seriously, but rather used as a form of entertainment,
even as far as a joke. Just like our good friend Dubya once
said "that relationship is not ideal".
|
Bubbles:
Why are they so mean? That's horrible!
Trunks: Aw, there there, Bubbles. Give daddy a hug!
|
Gohan:
Trunks! I'm watching you, you sick bastard!
Trunks: Heh. Girls, that's because American society
has developed concrete gender roles where men are men, women
are women, and men and women belong together. Men should be
macho, displaying traits of independence and brute strength.
On the other hand, women are supposed to be frail, emotive
sandwich-makers.
|
|
Trunks:
In reality, gender is a continuim, with masculine traits on
one end, and feminine traints on the other. Wherever you fall
on this continuim has no effect on your sexual preference.
Besides, the traits associated with masulinity and femininity
are culturally imposed.

|
Trunks:For
instance, people checking out my fine ass and gorgeous hair
and my more favorable characteristics such as compassion and
respect, lable me as "feminine" and therefore homosexual.
|
|
Trunks:
This is because I do not fit into the typical male stereotype.
I'm not hypermasculine, like my father. I don't have the same
disregard for women nor the overblown selfish ego that he portrays.
|
|
Trunks:
But don't get me wrong, I LOVE THE VAGINA EXPERIENCE!
|
|
Trunks:
I am confident in my sexuality where I don't have to display
exaggerated features like my father, who suffers from micropenis
syndrome.
|
|
Trunks:
In closing, I want you all to know that it is important not to
label others as masculine, feminine, homosexual, or straight.
A guy is not homosexual just because he portrays feminine characteristics.
As citizens of a community we must just take everyone in and love
them for who they are, because in the end, it doesn't even matter.
