WHAT ARE EARTH QUAKES?
An Earth Quake is a rapid shaking of the earth caused by the breaking and shifting of rock beneath the Earth surface. This shaking causes buildings and bridges to collapse; disrupt gas, and phone service; and some times trigger landslides, avalanches, flash floods, fires, and huge destructive oceans waves called tsunamis. Earth quakes can occur at any time of the year.
