There are two different Trunks in the DB/Z/GT series. Future Trunks (Marai no Trunks) came from the future to warn Goku and the guys about the andriods. He came to the past a little before Goku arrived, just enough time to beat the crap out Frieza and his father. When Goku arrived, he told him that he would get a new heart virus that would kill him, but he gave him the antidote which wasn't made yet in this time. He left after he warned the gang, but came back in the Andriod Saga. He helped fight Cell, and left at the end of the Cell Games Saga. The Trunks from this time (Chibi Trunks) automatically turned into a Super Saiyan (like Goten) without getting all ticked off. He fought and won the Junior Division of the World Tournament (all though he sort of cheated). Trunks and Goten fuse and become Gotenks later in the Buu Saga. Trunk's dad is Vegeta, and his mom is Bulma. His sister is Bra. His best friend is Goten, but in the future his best friend and teacher was Gohan.
