So what are the criteria for choosing and ISP?  More and more its becoming simply a matter of the lowest price.  E-mail freebies are so common these days that this is really not much of an extra.

Perhaps what you must look for is ease of use of the site of the ISP.  Is the site cluttered up with promotional stuff, or is it a simple design meant to make your experience easier.

Also: How much does the ISP want to know about your personal details. Some want way too much information.

Non-negotiables are the following: national presence, local or 086 dial-up numbers, a fast (preferably SAIX) connection, quick sign-up (not more than a day at the very most), web-mail, in other words, getting your e-mails anywhere in the world.
