Mildred Crane Scholarship Recipient
Alex Peh
Scholarship Recital
April 29, 2001
Mildred Henry Crane, who taught hundreds of west suburban Chicago music students during her 25 years a a piano teacher in Oak Park, was honored in a memorial recital on Sunday April 29, 2001.

Upon her death in 1999, her husband, Walter, and son, Richard, established a scholarship for a talented piano student. They did so with the help of the Oak Park Alumnae chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, a professional music fraternity for women of which Mildred was a member for more than 50 years.
Mildred Crane's son, Richard, attended the recital of Alex Peh.
Alex poses with chapter member, Donna Budil, who arranged the recital.
An extensive search of five schools brought the chapter to Alex Peh, a student at Northwestern Univeristy studying with Dr. Sylvia Wang.

Peh played Prelude and Fugue BMW 872 in C-sharp major from Book II by J. S. Bach, Sonata in minor op. 143 by Franz Schubert, and Carnaval op. 9 by Robert Schumann.
A reception followed the recital.
