WHEN I GOT SAVED I want to tell my story of how Jesus took me in, I wasn't really bad, but yet I was in sin. My heart did not belong to God, Still yet, I'd always pray. I knew that I would soon begin, To serve my God each day. One night about two years ago, I heard God speak to me. He put me under conviction, And would not let me be. I'd go to bed and think each night, And I could almost see, Myself become a Christain, From bonds of sin set free. It was during a revival, When I heard God speak to me, Saying, take your child and go to church, Rich blessings you'll receive. You'll find you feel much better, After going there for me. I did as God had bade me, Praise God, He set me free. I sat two pews from the front, Convicted and in dismay. Jesus spoke these words to me, Get to that alter and pray. I prayed there at the alter, And again at home that night, I cried and prayed myself to sleep, Till I woke in the early light. I went again the next night, And each night after that, He blessed me every night I went, There in the pew where I sat. I'm now determined to make Heaven my home, And live with Him on high, I plan to meet my loved ones, Way yonder in the sky. He saved my soul from the depths of Hell, That night when He called my name. I yielded my heart and soul to Him, And I have never been the same. Copyright Waneta L.
