You Can Only Use These Jobs When You Hit Level 30 and Do The Quest For Them
Ninja
Ninja (Extra Job)

The Ninja is an Extra Job, a job that must be quested for upon reaching level 30 before it becomes available to your character. As such, you will have a good working knowledge of the FF XI world by the time you are ready to attempt the Ninja Quest (see below for information on the Ninja Quest).

Switching to the Ninja job for the first time (just like switching to any other job for the first time) means that you start at level 1 in the job.

The Ninja

The Ninja are the masters of stealth, and gain many job abilities that allow them to sneak into heavily guarded places and eliminate specific threats.

Ninja walk the fine line between darkness and light. They are good with swords (and the katana), and are the true masters of throwing weapons (second only to the Ranger's archery / marksmanship abilities). The Ninja also uses Ninjutsu, giving them many different Ninja spells and abilities.

The Ninja has poor defense, but their speed (and evasion) more than make up for it.

Samurai
Samurai (Extra Job)

The Samurai is an Extra Job, a job that must be quested for upon reaching level 30 before it becomes available to your character. As such, you will have a good working knowledge of the FF XI world by the time you are ready to attempt the Samurai Quest (see below for information on the Samurai Quest).

Switching to the Samurai job for the first time (just like switching to any other job for the first time) means that you start at level 1 in the job.

The Samurai

Samurai live and die by the code of Bushido (the code of the warrior) but they don't die easily. Samurai have honed their martial skills to perfection. Despite their marginal HP, the Samurai is virtually equal to a Monk in the damage output.

High level Samurai are particularly adept at fighting against demons, and receive job specific abilities to help them accomplish this task.

For a Samurai, death is not viewed as failure. It is merely the ultimate service that can be rendered.
