De Pedro a Saint?
There is confusion going round Southampton today. Javi De Pedro, linked with a move, has told Sky Sports News he is moving to the Saints in a �2million deal. De Pedro says he is expecting the club to announce his move today (Thursday). But The Saints official site www.saintsfc.co.uk have kept very quiet on the matter. All they have said is "De Pedro is a player we have been looking at but we have not signed him". Does that mean we have not signed him yet? Or does it mean we are not signing him at all?

Saints have won their first pre-season match in Sweden against Jonkoping Sodra. Anders Svennson got the first, a 30yard scorcher! He added his second later on in the game, and David Prutton got a well deserved 2. A good start for Saints without Bridgey!

Once again Saints are being linked with anyone who has hinted a move. Javi De Pedro is the latest player to be linked, with Planet Football.com telling us he will sign for a bargain price of �2million. Adebayor the Metz striker has also been linked with a move to the south coast.

Saints have signed 34 year old Left Wing Back Le Saux from Chelsea, in a part exchange deal for Wayne Bridge. Le Saux helped Blackburn win the Premiership title in Season 94/95, and will add great experience for Europe. Le Saux has been given the number 3 shirt

Saints Sign Hall
Saints have signed Oldham central defender (Onesize) Fitz Hall for �250,000. The Oldham boy is a strong as a rock and put in some very good defensive performances the the Division 2 side last season. This now provides back up for Killer and Claus should one get injured.
Saints make first summer signing
Southampton have snapped up Leandre Griffit from Amiens. The 19 year 'startlet' from France turned down a new deal from the French side, the have a go in the Worlds Elite League. Griffit is likely to start in the reserves, and when the midfielder is ready, may take on the first team. One for the future.
