CHRIS BAILEY BIO
 

Born Christopher James Bailey in Kenya, Eastern Africa and was raised in Belfast. His family immigrated to Australia in 1967.

Chris Bailey began his career as vocals with legendary band The Saints (1974, Eternals (1974) and Kid Galahad (1973). Their first single I'M STRANDED / NO TIME, they were immediately signed with EMI. This modest recording is standard rock 'n' roll classic. 

The Saints composed and produced 3 albums: STRANDED in 1976, ETERNALLY YOURS in 1978 and PREHISTORIC SOUNDS in 1978. Their integrity, the systematic rejection of the methods, refusal of the concessions confront them to the mistrust of a fond musical press of lightness.

The Saints in September 1978, went separate ways. Chris Bailey remained in London. He continued to compose.

Chris Bailey reforms the Saints in 1979. That included Mark Birmingham, Barrington Francis, Janine Hall and Ivor Hay. They record an EP PARALYTIC TONIGHT: DUBLIN TOMORROW before undertaking a triumphant turn in Australia.

French label New Rose decided to issued the following albums: - THE MONKEY PUZZLE in 1981 a Led Zeppelin style for the Saints. OUT IN THE JUNGLE in 1982 if some stand out tracks, the album was re-titled as CASABLANCA for Lost Records Australia and later re-issued with Mushroom Records Australia in 1995.  

Chris Bailey released his solo album CASABLANCA in 1982 with New Rose. With a second album WHAT WE DID ONE OUR HOLIDAYS in 1984.  

The Saints issued their sixth album A LITTLE MADNESS TO BE FREE in 1984. Classic with the usage of acoustic guitar and brass instruments. New Rose issued their album live: LIVE IN HAS MUD HUT.

The Saints seventh album ALL FOOLS DAY in 1986. Chris Bailey sprinkles its compositions of Celtic musical references and approaches, themes emoluments religious.

The Saints commit their eight studio album PRODIGAL SON in 1988. A version remixed specially is conceived for the American market. Will follow some silence years.

Chris Bailey issued his third album DEMONS in 1991 it had orchestral arrangements and acoustic guitars. One will note the importance of the texts. It was recorded at Memphis, Tennessee.

Chris Bailey fourth album SAVAGE ENTERTAINMENT in 1992. Anthology of acoustic walks limp crossed of banjo, of flute or well of accordion. The maturate confers him an ease, an incomparable lyric virtuosity.

Chris Bailey fifth album 54 DAYS ... AT SEA in 1994. The lyric orderlies of this exceptional one "Best Of" titles. Songs like IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR by W. Pickett to AMSTERDAM by J.S. Brel. 20 reasons to think that to the armoires of the rock 'n' roll, the only magic instants themselves emotion, of terrace and of shivers.

Last Call released ENCORE in 1996. A brilliant 20 track compilation featuring songs from Chris Bailey solo albums "Savage Entertainment" and "What We Did On Our Holidays". The CD includes features several "un-released studio" and "live" cuts and covers the period from the mid eighties through to the early nineties.

Chris Bailey now lives in Amsterdam and travels between Sweden and Australia.
