"Today we started to prepare for the upcoming season, by starting to undertake our 1st proper training, which started with a few handling drills and then went on to attack vs defence and finished with a game situation and the back and forwards running through set moves. First of all I'd like to say that it was nice to see that ste was back into training after a long absence with his knee injury, and Mr Phil had recovered from his career threatening library book related injury in order to train. After getting back into the swing of things with a few handling drills, we decided to run through a few sets of six, and one thing that became apparent straight away was that carl despite his amazing dummying ability should not be allowed to be involved in any of the moves due to his inability to catch. It was nice to see that Martin and blobby (who trained for the 1st time, and looked sharp.) had managed to build up a pretty good understanding in the halves, and it should be an interesting contest to see who partners Si (saint me) at 7. After the drills and set moves we finished the session with a game of tick, in which flying wingman Mr Phil impressed us all with his Steve Hall like finishing ability, whilst his opposing winger Neil ( In torment in Hell) claimed that he was having a heart attack. All in all it was a good session, and looked promising for the new season, with team spirit being good, and things starting to work out. Hopefully next week, we'll see a few more there, and if were really lucky, that long forgotten player Mike Moran, might get over his Hangovers, laziness, and general good for nothing layboutness and shock us all and train, well can we dream anyway."
"Well, its that time of the year again, the lads met for the 1st time on sunday to resume training after a winter break, and were rocked by the news that they had suffered an early injury blow, this being that Mr Phil had badly damaged his shoulder carrying a rather large, Noddy Colouring Book home from University. After the lads had recovered 8 of us blew off a few cobwebs having a game of tick and pass, although it seems carl has taken his union career a bit too far after he got the ball inside his own half and kicked it downfield in typical carl fashion. All told we trained for about an Hour and a half, and it was a good start after a few months, although in the next few weeks it would be nice to see a few more at training if were gonna have another unbeaten season, which in my opinion we can do. Judging by the lads that have said there interested were going to have much of the same squad from last year, although without John williams who'll be missed at full back, and flying wing man leyley who looks like he may have to retire due to injury. These losses are replaced by the return of Sicknote ste, and the availibility for all games of Phil Jones (Blobby Goulding). Having ste back will be like having a new forward, and blobby increases options accross all areas of the back line. I also think the lads we have from last year have the talent to go unbeaten again, Our player of the year Henners (The V Man) was outstanding last year at hooker, and should be again, Our most improved sprout, sorry player, John Baden, should build on what he did last year, Vice Captain Si (Saint me) got better and better as the year went on, and was for me, the star man against Wire, and Neil (IN Torment in hell) was much improved when he wasnt injuring his own players!. If all these lads and the rest of us perform as we did last year, i cant see anyone beating us.
Here's to another good year."
