Lamenters:

The tactical squad Famulus took up position on the marine left flank in front of the large bunker, the rhino is parked in front of the bunker. Tatical squad Silex took on the job of defending the landspeeder landing pad. Tactical squad Curator lined the sand bags on the right flank to block LOS to the vindicator behind it. The devastator squad set themselves up in the large bunker on the left flank. The rest of the imperial troops were in reserve. The bunker on the right flank remained empty.

Bane of Fenris:

The squad, led by Edga Alunpo, took up position on the left flank in some old ruins. Their main job would be to occupy the marine right flank. The rest of the Bane would attack the marines left flank and were positioned for attack in front of the large bunker. The plague marines covered the right flank of the chaos attack, the predator took up position in the ruins on the right supporting a rhino with the squad led by Therian Zahn. To the left of Therian Zahn, Lycan Garawulf took up position with his Landraider and to the left of him came Baris Lofkrall with his troop and rhino.The terminators and dreadnought remained in the middle to support the advance of Lycan in his Landraider.

Bane of Fenris:

Edga's squad remains stationary, the rest of the army moves forward.The landraider uses a searchlight to illuminate the loyal rhino and firing it's lascannons manages to stun the driver and destroy the stormbolter. The rest of the shooting phase goes by with no effect as we're still in darkness.

Lamenters:

The vindicator selects reverse gear and moves across to the left flank taking a bead on Lycan's landraider.The devastators shoot at the landraider and destroy it, hurling it back to the edge of the table and killing two berserkers in Lycan's retinue. (Edga: this is what happens when you turn your lights on!) The marine with the rocket launcher from squad silex destroys Baris's rhino killing two of the occupants. What's left of Lycan's and Baris's squads disembark and have to make their way on foot. (Edga: So much for a fast attack - its going to take ages to reach the bunkers!)

Bane of Fenris:

The predator and Edga's squad remain stationary, the rest of the army advances, Lycan's and Baris' squads now on foot after their transport has been destroyed. The predator manages to kill one of the marines in Boda Custa's Famulus squad while Edga's squad manages to kill one of the marines in squad Curator on the left flank. The rest of the army is still too far away to shoot or does n't hit.

Lamenters:

The first of the marine reserves, the dreadnought, arrives and moves towards the plaguemarines. The rhino pulls back to give the vindicator a clearer shot.

The rest of the army remains stationary. The devastators immobilize the chaos dreadnought and destroy its plasma cannon. The rocket launcher from squad Silex destroys the chaos predator .(Edga: That leaves me with just a rocket launcher to take out the bunkers!) The vindicator takes a shot at Baris' unit but misses. The dreadnought lets go with everything he has at the plague marines killing two and then taking out another 2 in the ensuing HtoH.

Bane of Fenris:

The squad led by Therian Zahn dismounts from the rhino (Edga : I need the rocket launcher- now!). Using it as cover they remain stationary to allow their rocket launcher to fire. Edga's squad remains stationary, while the rest of the army advances. The rocket launcher in Therian's squad manages a glancing hit on the large bunker on the imperial left flank, stunning the devastators inside the big bunker. Edga's squad manages to kill 2 marines of squad Curator.

Lamenters:

The assault squad arrives.

They jump over the plague marines and shoot at Therian's squad and kill one marine.The rest of the army remains stationary. Therian's rhino takes two hits from plasma pistols, destroying the storm bolter and immobilising it. The chaos dreadnought is finally destroyed by a stray shot from the vindicator, that also kills one terminator. Squad Famulus, in front of the large bunker, shoots at the terminators and kills one. Squad Silex, in the landspeeder base, kill two marines from Baris' squad. Squad Curator on the marine left flank only manage to kill one of Edga's troop. The assault squad joins the dreadnought in its melee and together they wipe out the plague marines.

Bane of Fenris:

Therians' and Edga's squad remain stationary, the rest of the army moves forward. Therians' squad targets the assault marines, killing 2. Edga's squad kill 2 of squad Curator reducing them to 50% and causing them to fall back (Edga: Hurrah!!). The terminators shoot at squad Famulus but fail to wound.

lamenters:

The bike squad, led by librarian Brother Silenius, arrives on the marine right flank, moving along the outer wall of the large bunker. The landspeeder squad arrives roaring in over the vindicator into the center of the battlefield between the bunkers.

They fire off their meltas at the chaos terminators but none of them manage to wound.The assault marines close with Therian's squad, the dreadnought charges towards the terminators. One of Therian's troop gets killed by the combined shooting of the assault marines and the bike squadron

The vindicator finishes off Baris' squad with a well placed shot. Squad Famulus returns fire on the terminators and downs 2. One of Edga's troops gets killed by a rocket fired into the ruins on the imperial right flank by squad Curator. The dreadnought moves in HtoH with the terminators and kills 2, the remaining terminator refuses to withdraw though (Edga: tough little bugger!). The assault marines move into HtoH with Therian's squad

They kill 2 chaos marines, their vet. sarge kill's Therian and another chaos marine, the remainder lose their nerve and break, are then overrun by the assault marines.

Bane of Fenris:

The heavy weapons marine in Edga's squad takes a shot at the Landspeeder base with his autocannon in a last desperate attempt to destroy one of the bunkers (Edga: you never know your luck!) but misses. The odd shot from the berserkers kills a marine in squad Famulus. Lycan and his beserkers then join the last remaining terminator in the HtoH with the dreadnought. The berserkers hit the dreadnought three times from behind, but fail to damage it.

Lamenters:

The bikesquad, the librarian and the assault marines join the dreadnought in the HtoH.

Lycan get's killed by a hit from the dreadnought, his berserker retinue and the last remaining terminator get killed by the combined efforts of the bike squad, assault marines and dreadnought.

Bane of Fenris:

Remaining troops: Edga's squad with 5 marines and one immobilised and weaponless rhino. No bunkers destroyed.

victory points: 83

Lamenters:

Remaining troops: almost the entire army, one tactical squad is reduced to 50%, the rest has neglible casualities (2 assault marines, 3 tactical marines, rhino has lost stormbolter) 2 bunkers are in imperial hands.
