Well i would like to point out just Jesus going into the desert for 40 days. Like Moses and Israel, who in the Old Testament is called the Son of God (Israel), they too faced the same temptations in the desert but failed where Jesus succeeded. There is an interesting parallel between Moses and Jesus. Moses fled into the wilderness for 40 years in which he was prepared for the great mission of leading his people out of the bondage of slavery in Egypt. Likewise, Jesus was led and stayed in the desert for 40 days to prepare himself for spiritual warfare. Unlike Jesus, the people demanded thier manna in the wilderness and wouldnt live without it while Jesus quotes that "Man shall not live by bread alone." While on the temple, Jesus and God is tested and he quotes that "You shall not put the Lord your God to the test, as you tested Him at Massah.". Finally, the Israelites also worshipped another god, the gold calf while Jesus quoted that "We shall worship no other God". Thus Jesus too must undergo the temptations faced by Moses and the Israelite and ourselves, but he has been to only capapble of beating Satan. Thought I would throw that in.

"Behold, I am sending my
messenger ahead of you; he will prepare your way.
3
A voice of one crying out in the desert: 'Prepare the way of the
Lord, make straight his paths.'"

John (the) Baptist appeared in the desert proclaiming a baptism of
repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

Is this not what ACTS is doing? Are we not calling out for repentance and forgiveness of sins? Not only our sins but also of those who have sinned against us. Are we not preparing our selves as well as our fellow brothers and sister for the comming of the Lord. Are we not Fishers of Men and Women? It think it is time to wake up and smell the Capuchino!

Mark 1:14-15
Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God.
"This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.

A question we should ask ourselves daily. Do I believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Do I know what Jesus taught me of the way I should live my life as his disciple? We should look in to our souls and see where God is calling us to repent. As we look at the sins we commit in our lives we need to pray always as St Paul tells us to ask God to help us to turn away from those sins we commit and turn our hearts, souls, our minds, and our strength to God. The Kingdom of God is not somewhere in the heavens or in space, but it is within each one of us. Do we bring a glimpse of that Kingdom to those we encounter in our daily lives? We have it within us and are called to it. To serve and not to be served. As Catholics we have been known not to read and to know the Holy Scriptures. As I tell Catholics who have Bibles and don't read them to start by reading the four gospels to get to know Jesus Christ. Through reading and praying the Scriptures we will see how Almighty God talks to us through his Son and in union with the Holy Spirit. As Holy Week is approaching now is a good time to repent and believe in the Gospel for God sent his Son into the world not to condem us, but to save us.

In Mark Ch3. Jesus heals on the SABBATH and the elders think this is wrong. Jesus said to them, "Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?" this is powerful to me. We all are guilty of this. I know my spirit is unclean, because I sin against God everyday, and at I times I do not even think about falling down and confessing to God. Why is it that we are this way? Crazy thing is this, he has made me one of his disciples, I believe in him, but still I am tempted each day by the sins of the world, and each time he cast out the demons. The demons that keep me from being nice to my spouse, my friends, etc... and all through this he allows me to be Theapolis. God bless you all
