I'm Lord Commander Solar Macharius and this page is about me,
I was widely regarded as the greatest Imperial Guard commander in Imperial history. I led the Macharian Crusade which reached the edge of galactic space, bringing nearly a thousand worlds under Imperial control within only seven years of fighting. I was never beaten by the enemy, I never wavered or crumbled at the prospect of exploring the psychic darkness at the galaxy's edge. My conquests came to an end when my generals and flag officers told me my armies and fleets would or could not follow me any further. No man has ever conquered more worlds nor won so many battles as me, not since the legendary days of the Great Crusade itself.
I was a living saint during my life time and after my death the Ecclesiarchy and the most benevolent High Lords of Terra made me a full saint.
I was a ruthless leader, always pushing my men to more feats of daring and courage. Sometimes I would bombard planets into submission from orbit, and sometimes I would order an entire world's population destroyed.
I was blest to be the recipient of one of the God-Emperor's miracles when a enemy bolter shell embedded in my chest failed to detonate.
I commanded many forces and I had an equally notable generals; including St. Sejanus, who was always at my side. He was the one that told me that my men would follow me no further, and that consequently the planet now know as Ultima Macharia was the end of our crusade. My forces would not follow me into the Halo Zone, beyond the of the reach of the Emperor's guiding light, the Astronomican.
During my lifetime I had two vessels as my flagships in the crusade. First, I used the Pax Imperium, but when that was heavily damaged at the battle of Charaxdis, I moved my staff and flag to Lord of Light.. On my death, the Lord of Light was decommissioned and placed in orbit above the shrine world of Macharia as a tribute to me.
