| Tragedy In A Letter I know this must come as a shock, But you cant say its a surprise; You saw my heart, sinking like a rock, You saw through my happy lies. I wanted but one thing in life, The thing which I can never have; I will make no attempt to gain it in strife, And so the trouble of further disappointment I will save. I saw her on the street, arm in arm, A handsome man and his stunning prize, And this sight could do me no more harm Than the grave from which my soul flies. The sight of her is already a knife in my heart, I will just give it the final twist, So that from this cold world I may part. I doubt I shall be very missed. If I cause you pain, Im sure it wont last long, And now I see my effort was in vain, Oh, I was so wrong. I have destroyed myself, I have crushed those who love me, So please dont blame yourself, I died for my own stupidity. |
