My Philosophy Hello, I started Practice Perfect. with the goal of designing and implementing practice plans that are tailor made to every individual athlete in our care. This plan will be based on their skill level and personal progress. I have had the privilege of working with boys and girls as a coach for twenty years. In that time I was able to define my coaching philosophy as I gained insight and knowledge from working with a wide range players of different ages and skill levels. In addition I have had the opportunity of speaking with many other coaches and have attended coaching clinics and speaking engagements given by well known coaches at some of the highest levels of competition in a wide range of sport. Sports are fun and we all know it is just a game. That being said, we want to convey to our players that winning an individual game is not the only goal in athletic competition. More importantly it is giving a winning effort regardless of the outcome that is the goal of Practice Perfect. We try to teach our players this right from the beginning. First, we teach that family and school come before any athletic endeavor. We try to convey the importance of education and family relationships. By working with a players caregivers we reinforce those same values and principals that are being taught in the home. Second, by teaching correct fundamental skills that give each player a solid foundation that empowers young athletes. By practicing correct fundamentals our players can then learn to master more difficult skills much quicker and more easily. As our players gain confidence in themselves, this self- confidence can many times translate to the classroom where their most important work is being accomplished. Third, My experience has shown me that there is more than one way to "skin a cat" so to speak when it comes to teaching different aspects of a game. I am committed to striving to improve my education as a coach. I do this by trying to keep up on the latest books, videos, dvd's and by attending professional coaching seminars and using the best equipment available. My website is also a tool for players and parents . Each month I will have links to different drills and articles to help players get motivated about nutrition and exercise. For Parents you will find a monthly calendar with scheduled practice times and locations as well as our monthly specials and any new items of interest |
