The Movie: Dogma The Director: Kevin Smith The Actors: Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith, Chris Rock, Linda Foriento, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jason Lee The Plot: An abortion clinic specialist named Bethany (Linda Foriento) is contacted by one of the angels of God who tells her that she must stop two renegade fallen angels from reentering Heaven. The two angels, (Affleck and Damon) were banished by God forever to Wisconsin for their punishment. But they found a way back in. Unfortunately, if they reenter, all of existence would be undone. Bethany needs the help of two prophets, (Jay and Silent Bob) and the 13th apostle, Rufus. (Chris Rock) Together they must stop the angels from reentering Heaven and save existence. Review: A very good movie. Despite Jay's constant swearing (what did you expect?) it is a very well done film. The actors did very good jobs in their portrayals. This is the uplifting religious comedy of all time. I recommend this film to anyone. |

The Movie: Road to Perdition The Director: Sam Mendes The Actors: Tom Hanks, Jude Law, Paul Newman, Tyler Hoechlin The Plot: A young boy named Michael Sullivan (Tyler Hoechlin) is living a good life with his family, but his father, Michael Sullivin Sr. (Tom Hanks) is a mob hitman working for his father figure John Rooney (Paul Newman). After unfortunate circumstances, Michael and his father must leave their home to go to his aunts home in Perdition, Chicago. While they travel they rob the banks of the money kept by mob boss Al Capone. While they are travelling, they are stalked by a hitman named Macguire (Jude Law). They can only hope to make it before they are eliminated. The Review: Excellent film. For an R rated movie it was fairly mild (I saw it with my parents) but there is some language and alot of blood. Tom Hanks gave an excellent performance as well as Jude Law who was pretty creepy. I reccomend this movie. |
