St. Clair Hawks Milo Cricket 2004/2005 As soon as reports are received they will be added to this page MILO HAVE-A-GO REPORT
Our Milo cricket commenced in mid October on a rainy day at Cook & Banks Oval. Due to the conditions this day was only a day for registrations and to meet some of our new players. The next Monday we had a dry day on a wet outfield, this did not deter our Milo boys and girls who were enjoying our basic skills section. We continued to attract more players and on our 3rd week we had a very keen group consisting of Dylan,Joshua,Brianna,Katelyn,Jack,Daniel,Jason,Mitchell,Evan,Mathew and Jordon. This week we continued to improve our skills with ball handling drills, correct grip of the bat and hitting the ball off the tee. Already Andy and myself could see the improvement in the Milo group. As we entered early November we commenced line up cricket (with Andy) and rapid fire (by myself) The Milo group soon picked up these drills and enjoyed the various aspects of the game. Over the next week we commenced a 30 minute section of diamond cricket at the conclusion of our day, all the players were actively involved and were sad to see the end of the day. A fine day in early January saw us use the cricket pitch , we saw smiles on all the players faces as they learnt to to bowl on a cricket wicket and return the ball to the keeper. We completed the day with a quick game of Diamond Cricket much to everyone's enjoyment. A thunderstorm saw us pack up without bowling a ball the next week. We returned to fine weather and the cricket pitch for the final week and once again we saw some big hitting, plenty of running and some good bowling , we finished up with everyone's favorite Diamond Cricket. Well done all of the boys and girls for their participation and we hope to see you again next year. At this time I would like to thank all of the parents for their support in registering their children in this activety and in particular I would like to thank Andy for his support each week in training our players. Also Daniel and Brent for helping out and Steve Mood for his organization of this event this year and on previous years Ron Smith |
