Round 9 played 20th November 2004 _________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 8 An excellent team performance especially in the field. Lachlan took our first catch of the season with a spectacular caught and bowled. Hayden made an impressive run-out whipping off the wicket keeper's goves and throwing down the stumps from about 10 metres. I was also pleased with Kieran's bowling, who has obviously been practicing with his Dad. Andre and Daniel were calling very well between the wickets. A great 4 for Daniel behind square leg. Another solid game from Amanjit __________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 9 Another good win to the boys against a determined Cranebrook side. We batted first and found it hard to score runs with Cranebrook bowling well. Eventually we fought our way back to be 37 runs with 5 wickets down. Our bowling was superb with every bowler doing well. Half as many no-balls this week helped keep Cranebrook to 5 for 27. A special mention for Marcos who was on a hat trick, better luck next time ________________________________________________________________________________________ Round 10 played 27th November 2004 _________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 8 Our fielding was one of the best fielding performances by any team in the competition. Three exellent run-outs for the team with direct hits. A great catch by Lachlan at mid off and also great fielding by Amanjit and Andre. a good team effort Congratulations to Daniel for being the Player of the Week ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 9 Colyton went into bat first. We then had Blake and Jayden bat again putting on 20 to give us a total of 1 for 68 .If the grass had been shorter there would have been many more runs. R.S.L. went out to bat also with just 7 players and were in trouble with Keegan taking 2 for 1 off 3 overs. Marcos did a Ponting with a great runout with just 1 stump to aim at from side on.Not to be outdone Blake did a direct hit at the bowlers end to have R.S.L. 5 for 48 at the end of the innings. Blake ended with 0 for 1 off 2 overs and Marcus 0 for 4 off 3 overs .
