Safety at Tockwogh
Because we are a summer camp, children and their safety are our priorities. Every counselor on camp is either American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certified or Ellis Lifeguard certified, which carries with it a certification in CPR and First Aid. All of our waterfront staff are certified Ellis Lifeguards, and have either a Maryland Safe Boater License or a U.S. Coast Guard motor boat license. Our staff is highly trained and as you can see safety is our number one concern.
What we will ask of you when you come to Tockwogh is to be cautious at all times while driving on the camp roads. Not only will it be safer for your boats on trailors (our roads are gravel and if you travel at higher speeds stones will kick up from the ground and could damage your boats), but it is also a great deal safer for our campers who often walk on the roads between activities and meals.
Furthermore while you are free to bring whatever food you like, we ask that you do not bring any alcoholic beverages on camp grounds. Cigarettes are also prohibited, because of the gasoline tanks at our waterfront, and we would also like to keep our campers free from exposure to cigarette smoking.
