Hotaru is a physically weak little girl. She is pale and tires out very easily. Her father is a scientist and professor. They live in a mansion close to Mugen Gakuen (where Hotaru is in the 6th grade).
Though she herself is weak and frail, Hotaru has a special healing power, which the kids at school think is "icky." Her only real friend is Chibi Usa. Hotaru and she are quite close.
Both Hotaru and her father (Souichi) have been possessed by evil spirits. There was once a huge explosion at Professor Tomoe's lab, and he sold his soul to Master Pharaoh 90 so that he and his daughter could live. Hotaru became Mistress 9, and the Witches 5 (see Death Busters page) worked with Professor Tomoe to try and bring Master Pharoah 90 to full power.
As Sailorsaturn, Hotaru has the power to destroy the world. Aside from Eternal Sailormoon, Sailorsaturn is by far the most powerful Sailor Senshi. Her weapon is the Silence Glaive, which looks somewhat like the Grim Reaper's scythe. |
