I just
had an idea. What if Ash took the loss to Richie harder than everyone expected?
And what if Charizard finally repented? These and some other questions will be
answered in this fic! Okay, legal stuff, I do not own pokémon, I only own
Destiny, new pokémon, and new attacks. People who use my stuff without
permission will be flamed! I saw these episodes in Chinese, so if it’s
different from the English version, I can’t do anything about it! “” Is speech,
() is translated pokémon speech, and ** is thoughts.
“And the round goes to the red trainer,
Richie!” shouted the referee. Ash dropped to the ground as he held out a poke
ball. “Charizard, return.” He said in a monotone. The fire lizard was pulled
back into its ball. Richie came over to Ash, who wiped at his eyes for a sec
before putting on a fake smile and shaking Richie’s hand. Richie, Misty, Brock,
Professor Oak, and his Mom could not tell that behind that seemingly friendly
smile lurked something they didn’t know about.
For the
next two days, Ash didn’t eat anything. He didn’t sleep much either. “I think
he’s in depression.” Said Misty. “I’ll try and get him out of it.” Misty went
to find Ash, who was lying on his bed looking unhappy. “Listen, Ash! We don’t
like the way you’re behaving! If you don’t eat something soon you’ll get
malnourished!” shouted Misty. “I don’t care.” Said Ash, staring at her with
completely blank eyes devoid of any expression whatsoever.
“Come
on, go for a walk with me!” said Misty with a sweat drop on her head. “Go by
yourself.” Said Ash, not looking up. “You’re just a selfish brat, Ash Ketchum!
The old Ash would never do anything like this!” Misty shouted. Ash jumped up
from the bed and stared at her with angry eyes. “Besides, you already won a lot
of battles! 16th place isn’t that bad!”
said Misty.
Ash
stared at Misty and said quietly “But you don’t know the real Ash. The old Ash
is dead, so don’t bug me anymore!” Ash stalked out of the room and ran outside.
Misty stared. She went to find Pikachu, who had rushed out the door after her
master. Ash ran through the woods with Pikachu at his heels. Then, Ash reached
into his pocket and removed a spray bottle.
Pikachu,
Pikachu, Pikachu! Pikachu Pikachu Pikachu…? (Ash, that’s devolution spray!
You’re not thinking of…?) Ash nodded. “Pikachu, I’m sure you miss Charmander as
much as I do. And Charizard won’t obey me, so…” Ash reached into his backpack
and produced Charizard’s poke ball. It popped open, revealing a very annoyed
Charizard. It huffed a bit of fire at Ash before sitting down and taking a nap.
Ash
slowly edged towards Charizard, who largely ignored him. Then, Ash sprayed
Charizard with devolution spray. Charizard was surrounded by white light for a
minute before reappearing as Ash’s cute little Charmander, who chirped happily
in a high voice. Pikachu stared. Pika, pika, pikachu! (She devolved into
Charmander!) Ash nodded as he picked up Charmander into his arms and held him
close. Then, he snapped a pretty red collar with a white stone set in the
middle around Charmander’s neck.
“It’s
an Everstone, Pikachu. It keeps pokémon from evolving. Would you like one?
Bulbasaur and Squirtle each have one too. Kingler and Muk have already evolved,
so they don’t need them. Pidgeotto wants to evolve into Pidgeot, so she is free
to evolve.” Pikachu stared. Well, Charmander was back, the grumpy Charizard was
gone, so all was well in the world. Or was it?
“Charmander
is still at the same level Charizard was.” Said Ash. “Anyways, we’d better get
going. My mom and Professor Oak will be expecting us.” Ash and Pikachu ran
towards the house quickly. When they arrived, Professor Oak met them. “Ash,
where have you been!” shouted Oak. “Your mom is nearly out of her mind
worrying!” Ash didn’t answer and went inside.
After
lunch, Misty was teasing Ash about how he couldn’t control Charizard. “I bet
you can’t even control a Charmander!” said Misty gleefully. Ash jumped up and
held out a poke ball. “Then lets settle it with a pokémon battle! Unless you’re
afraid to face a ‘loser’ like me?” Misty was insulted and pulled out her own
poke ball.
“Starmie,
go!” shouted Misty. “Flare, I choose you!” shouted Ash. Charmander popped out
and stared at its opponent. Hmm, a Starmie. She was sure she could take it on.
“So
Ash, you caught a Charmander?” asked Misty. Ash just smiled. “Flare, Seismic
toss followed by Fire Blast!” Charmander obeyed and quickly knocked out Starmie
before it could even use Harden. “What the-?” asked Misty. Ash smirked. “Flare,
return. So Misty, still think I’m a loser?” Misty stared for a few seconds
before walking into the house. She felt strange. She had seen that Charmander
before, somewhere, but she couldn’t remember where.
Meanwhile,
Ash was having a talk with Flare, who was aghast when she heard of all the
things she had done while she was a Charizard. She was crying into Ash’s
jacket, and Pikachu and Ash were comforting her. “Now Flare, you didn’t know
that you would lose your memories when you evolved.” Said Ash comfortingly to
the Charmander. Flare whimpered a bit before hugging Ash as hard as she could.
“The Everstone in your collar will prevent further evolution.” Said Ash
explaining. Flare nodded and nibbled on some poke chow that Ash had brought up
to the room before returning to her poke ball.
Ash had
marked all his poke balls with a sticker that had a rainbow against a black
circle in case they ever got stolen again. Squirtle had complained that it
looked sissy, but Bulbasaur disagreed. (Rainbows are cool!) she had said. Ash
sighed. At least he had allowed the pokémon to design the interior of their
poke balls to recompense for putting those stickers on. Squirtle had filled his
with water and built an indoor pool, plus he had installed a refrigerator
stocked with lemonade, ice cubes, and other assorted Squirtle delicacies.
Bulbasaur
had planted flowers and vines in her ball, followed by a good crop of grass for
her to eat. Pidgeotto had placed a miniature mountain and tress in hers,
Charmander’s was full of volcanic rocks and lava, and Pikachu had filled hers
with gold stuff just in case she might need to go inside.
Ash had
tampered with Professor Oak’s equipment without him noticing, and had expanded
the interior of the poke ball by a lot. He had also learned how to shrink poke
balls even smaller then normal. Of course, nobody knew this, because they
assumed Ash was too dumb to do anything.
Ash
secretly gloated as he watched Richie lose his next battle. Next time Ash
fought Richie, he would make sure he would win. That battle had been unfair,
from Ash’s point of view, because his pokémon had been exhausted from fighting
Team Rocket, and Richie’s were fresh. Still, he couldn’t say this to the League
Officials, because the League was funded in part by Richie’s father, Richard
Goodwin.
At the
pokémon league awards ceremony…
Ash sat
quietly as he watched the three people receive their awards. *I could have
gotten a better ranking* he bitterly thought as he watched them. They were all
the same, inconsiderate snobs who all didn’t care for their pokémon. *If only I
had devolved Charizard earlier… Oh well, its no use now. Next year, I’ll show
them how good I really am!* Flare was
sitting next to Ash, who had managed to lose his companions and watch alone.
Just
then, the flame of Moltres went out as shadowy figures appeared. Rocket
Trainers appeared from out of nowhere and attacked the people. Ash watched
quietly, until someone tapped him on the shoulder. Ash spun around and saw
Misty. “Ash, help those people!” she shouted. Ash looked at her briefly before
releasing Spirita, the ice-blue pony he had gotten a long time ago, in a
different lifetime. Spirita stared at Ash for a second before realizing he was
the same person he had been, so she sent off an Ice Spiral attack which froze
most of the Rockets, followed by a Whirlwind. Ash smiled and petted her on the
back.
Then,
he sent Flare to restore the flame of Moltres. Flare was a bit scared, but then
she realized that up in the clouds, the real Moltres was smiling down at her.
She quickly lighted the fire and scurried back to find Ash mobbed by reporters,
with Pikachu zapping any that got too close.
“How
did you get a new pokémon?” “When did you catch it?” “What type is it?” “Does
it evolve?” “Why isn’t it listed in the pokédex?” Ash signaled to Pikachu with
his eyes, who let off a massive Thunder attack and let Ash and his pokémon
escape under the cover of darkness. (Okay, just a note. Ash has been reborn
several times, but has kept his pokémon with him every time. He caught Spirita
in a different lifetime, but she still recognizes him because he has the same
spirit/amulet/essence. Whatever!)
Ash
quickly escaped on Pidgeotto. When he got back to his ‘house’, he quickly
grabbed his knapsack, some canned food from the pantry, and took off. When
Professor Oak and his mom returned, they found Ash gone. Misty was fuming. *Who
does Ash think he is? Does he think he can just leave and ditch us here? He
still owes me a bike!* Just then, she noticed a note on the table and picked it
up.
Dear
Mom, Professor Oak, and Misty.
I’m
sorry for taking off on you like that, but it was an emergency. I don’t want to
face any more questions. Professor Oak, I’m sorry, but I disabled the pokédex
so you can’t track me. Mom, I did bring enough clean underwear, so don’t worry.
Take good care of Mimey. Misty, here’s $500. I think that’s enough for a bike.
Pikachu says hi to Togepi. That’s all.
Bye,
Everyone.
Ash
Ketchum
Misty
blinked as she looked at the note. Then, she screamed. Professor Oak ran in
followed by Mrs. Ketchum. “What’s wrong?” asked Mrs. Ketchum. Misty pointed to
the note. When Mrs. Ketchum finished, she fainted dead away. Professor Oak had
to pour cold water on her before she awakened. “Oh my poor baby.” Said Mrs.
Ketchum, wailing. Misty sighed and went to search for Ash. First, she went to
the bike shop and got a brand new red ten-speed bicycle.
Ash
flew through the forest on Pidgeot. Soon, he would have to change his
appearance before missing posters started flashing. Ash pulled out his pokédex
and stared at his picture for a second. Then, he gathered black energy around
himself. Ash’s eyes opened as he dismounted. Pidgeot was returned to her poke
ball. (Yes, Pidgeotto evolved, she has enough experience!) Ash landed as he
looked at himself. Short, brown hair and blue eyes. His new outfit consisted of
a green sweatshirt and pants with yellow patches on them. (Like Richie.) He had
a green headband in his hair, and yellow sneakers. Ash looked in a mirror and
smiled. He looked nothing like himself.
Pikachu
had also gone through some changes. Her black eyes had also turned green and
her fur had darkened. This way, nobody would be able to recognize her. Ash’s
red pokédex had turned green and now identified him as Charles, a grass and
electric type pokémon trainer. Ash smiled. He had quietly replaced Charmander,
Pidgeot, Muk, and Squirtle with other pokémon caught in a different lifetime.
Bulbasaur and Pikachu remained. Charmander had been replaced with Spiritis
(grass/fire), Pidgeot with Zapdos (electric/flying), Muk with Vileplume (poison/grass),
and Squirtle with Chonchii (electric/water). Nobody would be able to figure out
who he was. Nobody at all…
Elsewhere…
“To
protect the world from devastation!”
“To
unite all people within our nation!”
“To
denounce the evils of truth and love!”
“To
extend our reach to the stars above!”
“Jessie!”
“James!”
“Team
Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!”
“Surrender
now or prepare to fight!”
“Meowth,
that’s right!”
Misty
sighed. “For the ten millionth time, Ash isn’t here! He left yesterday and ran
away!” Jessie and James stared at her for a full 10 seconds before leaving.
Misty looked at their retreating figures in shock. “O-Kay, that was really
weird.” She commented before going inside to eat lunch.
‘Charles’
looked at the guard next to the S.S. Aqua impatiently. “For the tenth time, let
me on that boat or else Pikachu here will zap you!” said Ash. The guard shook
his head. “You need a boat ticket.” He repeated. Ash sighed and pulled a ticket
out of his pocket and stuck it in the guy’s face. The guard paled and let him
pass instantly.
Ash had
stolen a 1st class ticket from a member of Team Rocket he had beat up. Ash had
also taken the guy’s uniform, just in case, and caused Poliwrath to wipe his
memories. Now, Ash headed to his suite. Just then, a hand tapped him on the
shoulder.
Ash
turned around and saw Gary Oak. “Yes?” he drawled, leaning against the wall. “I
challenge you to a pokémon battle!” said Gary. Ash waved impatiently as
Bulbasaur appeared. “Go, Arcanine!” shouted Gary. “Bulbasaur, Ice Spore.” Said
Ash. Arcanine was frozen solid and couldn’t battle. Gary quickly ran off to the
center on the ship. Ash smiled and patted Bulbasaur before going into his room.
In his
spacious suite, Ash released his six ‘custom’ pokémon and his other pokémon.
Charmander sat and read a book by the window while Squirtle, Poliwrath,
Bulbasaur, Pidgeot, Pikachu, Spirita, Spiritis, Vileplume, Muk, and Zapdos
played tag. Chonchii, Delphinis, Vaporeon, Lapras, and Ash’s other water pokémon
played in the bathtub and spa. Fearow, Beedrill, Butterfree, Venomoth, and
Ash’s other flying types flew above the ship. Flareon, Jolteon, Eevee, Espeon,
and Umbreon raced each other through the corridors, and Ash’s other pokémon
just took care of themselves.
Gary
Oak wondered who this mysterious trainer was. He called Professor Oak, who told
him to look it up on the ship’s computer. The following information was given.
Name:
Charles Katz
Hair
Color: Brown
Eye
Color: Blue
Height:
5’6
Weight:
?
Win/Loss
Record: 300 wins, 2 losses.
Badges:
Boulder, Cascade, Thunder, Rainbow, Soul, Marsh, Volcano, and Earth.
Known
Pokémon: Bulbasaur, Chonchii, Zapdos(gasp!), Pikachu, Vileplume, and Spiritis.
[Team] Other pokémon at Professor Dave’s include Eevee, Pidgeot, several Eevee
evolutions, Charmander, and Venomoth.
“Interesting.”
Said Gary to himself. “Yes, this could get very interesting. So he uses mainly
grass and electric types. I’ll be sure to bring pokémon that can beat those.”
He didn’t see Ash come up behind him and go to another computer. Ash typed in a
password as several pictures flashed across the screen.
*Brothers,
sisters, I miss you.* said Ash telepathically. He felt a gentle nudge and saw
Moltres sitting next to him, looking compassionate. Moltres ruffled his hair
with a wing and smiled before disappearing. Gary had been too absorbed in his
data to notice a thing.
Ash
looked happy for a second. He decided to go check out some of the shops on
board the S.S. Aqua. Ash bought several good items, including a Magnet,
Charcoal, 2 Miracle Seeds, Mystic Water, Unmelting Ice, and Focus Band. He
equipped all of these items onto the pokémon that could use it and headed for
the stern. 2 days later, they arrived in Johto.
Ash
quickly left the ship. He called Lapras to ferry him across the water to some
faraway islands. Lapras readily complied. There, Ash trained his pokémon in
secret, using special techniques no one else knew about.
Misty
had been puzzled when Ash ran away, but when he was reported to be missing, she
got curious. He had managed to hide for a month already. One possibility was
that he had joined Team Rocket, but that was very unlikely, plus if that were
true he would have already been spotted. Another possibility would have been
that he had committed suicide, but they hadn’t discovered any bodies so far. It
was all very strange.
Professor
Oak had come up with a theory that Ash had turned into a pokémon, but that was
the most far-fetched idea of all. It seemed completely unlikely. It was more
likely that he was using a disguise. Unfortunately, Ash had disabled his
pokédex so they couldn’t use that to track him. The situation was getting kind
of desperate by now.
Richie
felt bad, since it seemed that Ash had left because he had lost to Richie, but
Misty doubted that. They had been such good friends! Still, she read the
obituaries in the newspapers faithfully every day in hope that some news would
turn up about Ash.
Ash
stood on a mountain peak near Cerulean. He had been to Mount Moon to visit the
Clefairy colony there, and had been rewarded with a Clefable who followed him
around like his shadow. Pikachu was a bit jealous of this new intruder, but Ash
told her that no one would ever replace her. Pikachu felt a bit better at this.
Delilah
was reading the mail when she gasped. Sitting on top of the pile of letters was
a gold envelope. On the cover were a boy and a Pikachu. She quickly tore open
the envelope and withdrew a letter and a poke ball. Inside the poke ball was a
Jynx, and the letter went like this.
Dear
Mom,
I hope
you’re okay. Sorry for running out on you like that, but you have to understand
that I was feeling really bad then. Jynx is here to keep you and Mimey company.
I’m traveling somewhere in Kanto, that’s all I can say. Tell Professor Oak that
I disabled the pokédex for a good reason and I’m sorry for not telling him
beforehand. Tell Misty that I’m okay. Tell Richie that it is not his fault. And
give my regards to everyone else.
Love,
Ash
Satoshi Ketchum
P.S. If
you want to find me that badly, go to the Indigo League Finals this year. I’ll
be there.
So
Delilah, Professor Oak, Misty, Richie, and every else patiently waited until
the Indigo League Championships started up again. Finally, the first day dawned
bright and clear.
“You
have a match on the grass field.” Said Misty to Richie. “Go ahead and go. I’ll
go and look for Ash.” Richie smiled his thanks and ran off, Sparky trailing
behind. Misty searched through the trainers’ rooms but had no success.
Suddenly, she bumped into someone.
“Oh,
I’m sorry!” said Misty to the boy. The boy smiled at her and helped her up,
before walking away. Misty stared for a moment before blinking. *That looked a
lot like Richie…* She thought. Then, she quickly ran to the grass field. Misty
and Richie had become friends, because they had learned how to cooperate in
order to try and find Ash, although their friendship had been developing into
something more serious.
Ash
glanced at his watch briefly before heading to the Water Field. He saw his
opponent from across the field and nearly fainted. *Misty! What’s she doing
here? Why is she competing? She doesn’t have any badges! * Ash mentally sighed and reached for a poke
ball. Just then, the Referee appeared. “Today, this match is between the Green
Trainer Charles and the Red Trainer Misty!” He announced.
“Staryu,
go!” shouted Misty. Ash blinked and had a look on his face that said *you can’t
be serious*. “All right, Chonchii, go!” shouted Ash. “Chonchii!” shouted the
cute little light bulb fish. Misty blinked. She had never seen that pokémon
before. She immediately withdrew a blue pokédex from her pocket. “Chonchii- The
lantern pokémon. It is very rare.”
“Staryu,
Swift!” yelled Misty. “Chonchii, Thunder Punch!” (Since it’s an electric/water
hybrid, I’m assuming it can learn that from the TM.) “What?” shouted Misty. Ash
laughed. Nobody knew that Chonchii was a water/electric hybrid, so they usually
used normal water pokémon against it. Staryu hit Chonchii with its swift
attack, but was fainted by Chonchii using Thunder Punch.
“Staryu,
Return! Starmie, go!” shouted Misty. *Wow. This guy is actually an okay
trainer, but it’s only the first round so there’s no guarantee he’ll make it to
finals. * “Starmie, Bubble beam!” Chonchii was hit with Bubble beam and swung
around crazily like a top for a few minutes. “Chonchii, Confuse Ray followed by
Thundershock!” shouted Ash. Starmie was confused, so it couldn’t obey Misty’s
order to Harden. Then, Chonchii took it out with Thundershock.
*I’m
down to my last pokémon!* Thought Misty. *What will I do? Horsea, Dewgong,
Togepi, won’t work. Wait a minute. Psyduck!* “Psyduck, go!” shouted Misty.
Psyduck appeared. Ash considered for a moment before holding out a poke ball.
“Chonchii, Return! Jolteon, I choose you!” Jolteon appeared and watched
Psyduck. Misty was surprised. Why had Charles called Chonchii back? He didn’t
know about Psyduck’s perpetual headache, did he?
“Jolteon,
make this a 1 hit K.O.!” shouted Ash. “Thunder!” Psyduck didn’t have a chance before
he was turned into a zapped duck. “And Psyduck has fainted! The winner is
Charles, the Green Trainer!” cried the Referee. Misty ran off the field sobbing
while Ash hugged Jolteon and Chonchii. Then, he headed off to his campsite.
Meanwhile,
Richie had been fighting a girl named Mary Anne. Sparky had taken out her
Pidgey and Spearow, but one was still left. “Geodude, go!” shouted Mary Anne.
“Sparky, Double Team followed by Swift!” shouted Richie. Sparky obeyed and
Geodude was hit with a devastating Swift attack. “Geodude, Self destruct!”
shouted Mary Anne. Geodude Self Destructed, fainting both Sparky and itself.
“And the winner is Richie, the Red Trainer!” shouted the Ref. Richie quickly
ran off to the pokémon center. He met Misty there.
Misty
was talking to Nurse Joy. “So, what types of pokémon does Charles have?” she
asked. Nurse Joy looked thoughtful for a minute before handing Misty a list.
“Chonchii, Jolteon, Vileplume, Bulbasaur, Pikachu, and Spiritis.” “Hmm.” Said
Misty. “I thought Chonchii was a water pokémon. I didn’t know it was a hybrid.”
Nurse Joy shrugged. “Most people make that mistake. Don’t blame yourself.
Besides, Charles has only lost 2 or 3 times, so don’t feel bad.” Misty sighed
as she reclaimed her now healed pokémon. Just then, Richie ran in.
“Nurse
Joy, I need to get Sparky healed! He was attacked by a ferocious Geodude!”
shouted Richie. “Right this way.” Said Nurse Joy, taking Sparky. She returned
with him half an hour later. “So Misty, how did you do?” asked Richie. “I lost the
first round to this guy named Charles.” Said Misty unhappily. “That’s too bad.”
Said Richie. “Richie, you have to avenge me!” shouted Misty. Richie Sweat
dropped.
The
next day…
‘Charles’
was at the Rock field this time, and Richie was at the Grass field. Richie did
not have a match for a while, so he decided to see Charles in action. Charles’
opponent was a boy named Nick. Misty and Richie watched intently as the battle
began. (Note. The next battle is from Misty and Richie’s point of view, so they
think Ash is Charles.)
“Dugtrio,
go!” shouted Nick. Charles laughed contemptuously and pulled out a poke ball.
“Vileplume, go!” he shouted. Vileplume appeared and growled at the Dugrio.
“Dugtrio, Dig!” shouted Nick. “Vileplume, Stun Spore Dugtrio!” shouted Charles.
Vileplume shot spores at Dugtrio, Paralyzing it. “Now use Petal Dance!” Charles
shouted eagerly. Dugtrio fainted under the assault.
“He is
pretty good.” Said Richie thoughtfully. Meanwhile, Misty was thinking. *I
shouldn’t have been so hard on Ash. At least he made it to the fourth round. I
couldn’t even pass the first round! *Then Misty turned her attention back to
the battle. Nick was reaching for his second pokémon. Everybody in the stadium
watched eagerly.
“Golem,
go!” shouted Nick. “Vileplume, Sleep Powder.” Said Charles coolly. “Oh no!
Golem, Earthquake!” Golem launched its Earthquake attack at Vileplume, which
damaged it. Just then, it was hit by Sleep Powder and fell asleep. “Now use
Mega Drain!” said Nick. Vileplume Mega Drained Golem, which fainted it while
Vileplume’s HP were restored.
Nick
thought for a few moments before pulling out his last poke ball. “Magmar, go!”
Magmar popped out and Fire Punched Vileplume, who looked ready to faint.
“Vileplume, return!” said Nick. “Pikachu, this one’s yours! Thunder Punch!”
Pikachu Thunder punched Magmar, who tried to Smog it but failed. “Now Pikachu,
Thunder!” A magnificent Thunder Attack lit up the stadium. When the dust
cleared, Pikachu was standing victorious atop a fainted Magmar.
“And
the winner is the Green Trainer, Charles!” said the announcer. Misty looked at
the Pikachu who Charles was hugging strangely. If she simply changed Charles’
clothes and hair color, she could almost imagine it was Ash. But Ash wouldn’t
be so cruel as to ignore her, would he? Misty wasn’t sure, but then she
remembered the words in the letter. *P.S. If you want to find me that badly, go
to the Indigo League Finals this year. I’ll be there. *
*Ash,
is that you, the cocky trainer up there with the Pikachu? * Misty thought to
herself. *If it is you, what has happened? You seem so distant, so strange.
Please forgive me for all those things I said to you, I really didn’t mean it!
And I never did tell you that you were special in your own way. * Misty looked up
to see that Charles had left. Somehow, she felt a bit worse.
“That
guy is pretty good.” Said Richie. “I’ll probably have to fight him.” Misty
nodded and went to the center to see if she could catch him there. She did.
Ash was
waiting impatiently for Nurse Joy to get Vileplume healed. He could have used
his own powers of healing, but there were so many people around that he could
not count on staying undiscovered. Just then, a redhead walked into the room
carrying a Togepi. Ash’s eyes widened but he refused to let his facial
expression show anything. He leaned against the wall and opened his pokédex,
pressing some buttons.
“Professor?
I would like to transfer Vileplume for Bulbasaur.” Said Ash, knowing that Misty
was watching him. He pressed some buttons on the pokédex as a warp panel
opened. Ash dropped his newly acquired Vileplume in and was greeted by the
sight of a poke ball. Out jumped a feisty Bulbasaur.
Misty
watched Charles as he exchanged his pokémon. He seemed so mature, so unlike
Ash, but appearances could be deceiving. She sat down next to him. Just then, a
small Pikachu zapped her. Misty screamed and jumped away. Charles looked down
and put is hands on his hips. “I told you not to go around zapping people,
Pikachu.” He said. Misty shot a quick look at the Pikachu while Charles
apologized to her. It had green eyes, dark fur, and a short tail. It didn’t
resemble Ash’s Pikachu in any way. She sighed and left the center.
“That
was close Pikachu.” Said Ash as he and his pokémon left the center. Pikachu
nodded and resumed her perch on Ash’s head. “Oh well, I guess we better head
back to our campsite. It’s getting pretty late.” Said Ash. “And I’m sure you
guys all want dinner.” All of Ash’s pokémon looked up and nodded
enthusiastically .
The
next day…Ash’s third round!
“So,
Your next match is at the flying field?” Richie asks Charles. Charles nods and
grins. “I know my pokémon can do it!” *He is very enthusiastic, like Ash was,
but he seems more mature for some reason. And he doesn’t remind me of Ash that
much. He seems too snobby in a different way. * Richie thought. He saw Charles
leave. Richie had already won his match at the Ice Field.
Ash
looked at his opponent. So, Gary had decided to show up again? Well, it was
worth a try. Ash instinctively reached for a poke ball as the round started.
Gary’s first pokémon was Fearow. “Zapdos, go!” shouted Ash. Zapdos used Thunder
on Fearow, which fainted it. He also fainted Gary’s Pidgeot. Gary considered
for a moment before throwing out his last pokémon, Alakazam. “Zapdos, Light
Screen!” shouted Ash as Alakazam launched a Psychic attack. Light Screen
protected Zapdos from the effects of Psychic. “Now use Drill Peck!” shouted
Ash. Since Flying types were good against psychic types, Alakazam fainted. Gary
ran off in a rage.
A week
later…
It was
down to the Final Match between Richie and Charles. Misty secretly hoped Richie
would win, but she had a strange feeling she just couldn’t shake off. She felt
like she had known Charles before, but she couldn’t remember when. It was so
strange.
“This
match will be six on six.” Said the announcer. “Happy, go!” shouted Richie.
Butterfree appeared and flapped its wings expectantly. “Flare, I choose you!”
shouted Ash. Charmander popped out and took a good look at her opponent. Hmm, a
Butterfree? Well, she was sure she could take it on.
Char,
Charmander! (You’re just a bug!)
Free,
Free, Free, Butterfree! (Shut up, you flaming lizard!)
*Flare,
use Fire Blast! * Cried Ash telepathically.
Charmander!
Chaaaaaarmmmaaaaaaaaaaander! (Fiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeee
Bllllaaaaaaaassssssssssssssstttttttttttt!) Happy was Fire Blasted and fainted.
Richie frowned and threw out his next pokémon, Tentacruel.
“Flare,
use Flaming Thunder!” yelled Ash. Charmander shot fire mixed with electricity
at the offending pokémon, seriously damaging it. “Now use Seismic Toss!” yelled
Ash. Charmander Seismic Tossed the Tentacruel, fainting it. Richie gasped.
“Tentacruel,
return! Smelly, go!” Gloom popped out and let loose a Stun Spore at Charmander,
paralyzing her. “Flare, come back! Zapdos, go!” shouted Ash. Zapdos let loose a
Drill Peck, which finished off Gloom easily enough. Richie threw out Zippo(his
Charmander) next. Zippo was fainted by Zapdos. So was Venomoth. Finally, Richie
sent out Sparky.
“Sparky,
Thunder!” yelled Richie. Since Zapdos was a flying type as well as an electric
type, it was badly hurt by Thunder. Ash decided to pull it back. “Zapdos,
return. You’ve done a good job. Pikachu, I know you can beat this guy!” Pikachu
jumped of Ash’s head and into the Arena, cheeks sparking. Sparky looked
puzzled. He had seen this Pikachu before, but where?
Pika,
pika, pika, pikachu? Pikachu, pika, pikachu! (Who are you? I feel like I’ve met
you before!)
Pikachu,
pikachu, pikachu, pikachu. Pikachu pikachu! (That is of no importance right
now. Lets battle!)
“Sparky,
thunder!” yelled Richie. “Pikachu, absorb.” Said Ash in monotone. Pikachu
absorbed Sparky’s thunder attack, so no damage was dealt. “Now Pikachu, use
Eternity Thunder!” Eternity Thunder was an ultimate attack, so it took Sparky
out easily. Richie gasped as he ran down to pick up Sparky. Ash ran down and
hugged Pikachu, as confetti drifted down from the stands.
Later,
Ash was awarded the badge that identified him as pokémon master at the awards
ceremony. He smiled and quietly left as soon as it was over. Unfortunately, he
did not realize that he was being followed.
Ash
walked through the woods slowly. Suddenly, something hit him in the back. Ash
fell to his knees as he looked up. He saw Misty and Richie standing there, with
Sparky and Starmie out. Ash groaned. “What do you want?” he asked, trying to
keep his voice normal. “Richie deserves to be the League Champ!” cried Misty.
“Therefore, since you are in the way, we will exterminate you.”
Ash
narrowed his eyes. “I think not,” he said, one hand reaching for a poke ball.
“Sparky, Thunder Wave!” shouted Richie. Sparky complied and zapped Ash,
paralyzing him. *Damn! * thought Ash as his eyes closed. * Everybody run and
save yourselves! * Red lights flared as Ash’s poke balls simultaneously popped
open and the pokémon ran out into the night, all knowing that they would head
to Ice Island when the danger was past.
On Fire
Island, Moltres woke up with a shudder and spread her wings. Slowking
stared at it. “What is wrong?” he asked. Moltres cawed in reply. (My
younger brother has been captured! He awaits death at the hands of those who
were once his friends.)
“Impossible!
None could plot against the chosen one and survive!” cried Slowking. Moltres
shook her head. (It is true. We shall have to rescue him. And when we find him,
the betrayers will be well punished. Come, I must wake my sisters and
brothers.) Moltres flew out of Fire Island, letting out a loud cry to wake up
its sleeping siblings.
Zapdos
and Articuno rushed out, followed by Honou, Lugia, and Serebii. “What is the
matter?” They all cawed. Moltres cleared her throat for attention. (Our
youngest brother is currently facing death. We must go rescue him!) The other
legendaries looked skeptical for a minute, but then they all relaxed. (Poison!)
Hissed Serebii. (They’ve poisoned him with extract of Muk! He’s going to die if
we don’t do anything!)
So all
together, the six legendaries flew towards Victory Road, where they could sense
Ash’s presence. He was fighting the urge to transform, but it would soon be
futile. He could not hope to keep his secret a secret any longer. Just then,
Ash passed out from the poison. Misty laughed. “Soon, the poison will wipe him
out completely! He can’t survive this much longer, in fact I’m surprised he’s
still alive.” Said Misty. Richie looked a bit unhappy. True, he would love
being League Champ, but he did not enjoy these dirty tricks.
Suddenly,
a black shape swooped down and grabbed Misty. She screamed. She screamed even
louder when she saw that it was a Beedrill. “Put me down!” she yelled. She saw
Richie carried away by a Gengar, which Sparky was fighting valiantly. Unfortunately,
Sparky soon fell asleep due to Hypnosis. *Who is rescuing Charles? *
Zapdos
let off a Thunder Attack at the brown haired boy who was being beaten up by
Articuno. Moltres had flamed Misty to a crisp. Serebii was currently extracting
the poison from Ash’s body. Honou was standing guard, Lugia was checking up on
Ash’s pokémon, and Articuno finished freezing Richie by using an Ice Beam.
(Ash,
transform! Come on, you have to transform, or else you’ll die!) Shouted Serebii
in Ash’s ear. Ash’s body stiffened for a moment before the familiar
black-and-gold wings appeared and covered his body. When they opened again,
Destiny was standing there looking dazed. Serebii immediately continued her
treatments. Moltres was watching Misty carefully, and there was no way Richie
could escape since he was frozen solid.
A few
hours later, Serebii breathed a sigh of relief. She had finally succeeded in
removing all the poison from Ash’s system, it had been close, but they had
pulled through. Now, Ash was sleeping peacefully with his pokémon sleeping
around him, Hoot Hoot and Noctowl keeping guard. Misty was tied to a tree, and
her poke balls had been confiscated. However, they had forgotten about the tiny
egg in her backpack.
“Togepi,
Metronome!” whispered Misty softly. The little egg chirped and fired a
Metronome attack at Hoot Hoot, which took it out. Unfortunately, Ash, who was a
light sleeper, heard the commotion and woke up. He immediately threw a Thunder
Wave attack at Misty and Togepi. Misty writhed, partly paralyzed, while Pikachu
K.O.’d Togepi.
“So
Misty, how do you like being paralyzed?” asked Ash. Misty cast a look of pure
hatred at him. If looks could kill, Ash would have been dead and buried. Ash
did not look worried at all. Instead, he drew a faint sign in the air.
Microscopic spores floated down from nowhere as Misty fought the urge to sleep.
But she soon succumbed to it and fell fast asleep.
Ash
stood in front of a fire. His eyes glittered as he dropped blue powder in it.
Soon, the fire had changed to what looked like a pool of water. Ash smiled. He
knew that Misty couldn’t resist water, and that Richie would follow Sparky
anywhere. Alakazam had hypnotized Sparky into obeying Ash’s commands. The trap
was baited and set. The only surprise would be when the prisoners decided to
take a risk.
Misty slowly rubbed her eyes as she woke
up. Then she gasped. She was sitting next to a pond of water, with Staryu and
Starmie splashing in it. “Looks like fun. And I’m so dusty and thirsty…” Misty
walked towards the water and noticed a faint heat coming from it. “It must be a
hot spring!” Throwing off her backpack and kicking off her shoes, she jumped
in. There was a loud hiss and an explosion. When the dust cleared, Ash saw a
pile of ashes in the center of the fire.
“Well done.” Said Ash to his two dittos,
which had been posing as Misty’s pokémon. They grinned and jumped out as they
headed for a quick dip in the sea. Ash looked rather triumphant. Now that Misty
was gone, Richie was the only obstacle left in his way, and by God he would
make the wannabe master pay for attacking him.
Richie
woke up near noon. “Where am I?” he asked. “And where is Misty? I remember
being attacked by a Gengar but that’s all…” He trailed off as he saw Happy,
Zippo, and Sparky sitting next to him looking worried. “You’re all right! I
thought some pokémon thief would try to steal you!” Zippo nudged Richie
affectionately before curling into a little ball and going to sleep.
Sparky
was eating an acorn while Happy was flying around searching for food/water.
Suddenly, she pointed in the distance. “Huh?” asked Richie. “You’re saying that
there’s a spring there?” Happy nodded and was seconded by Sparky. Richie picked
up Zippo. Then, he and his pokémon headed towards the spring.
Ash
watched from his perch in the clouds. It was almost too perfect… He just had
the feeling that someone would come and mess it up. His suspicions were
confirmed when he spotted a Meowth balloon. Ash rolled his eyes. Why did Team
Rocket have to show up now?
Richie
was near the spring when he heard two voices.
“To
protect the world from devastation!”
“To
unite all people within our nation!”
“To
denounce the evils of truth and love!”
“To
extend our reach to the stars above!”
“Jessie!”
“James!”
“Team
Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!”
“Surrender
now or prepare to fight!”
“Meowth,
that’s right!”
Richie
looked confused. What was Team Rocket doing here? “Sparky, blast those two far
away!” he shouted. Sparky complied and blasted them straight into the pond. A
great roaring was heard, and within minutes, there was smoke coming from two
piles of dust in the center of a dry hole in the ground.
Richie
gasped and started edging away from the pond. Up on his cloud, Ash threw an
energy blast against the wall. *Curse those Rockets! If that stupid trio hadn’t
showed up…I could have gotten rid of Richie! But no, they just had to go and
mess things up! Well, at least this time they’ve paid for it! * Ash looked down
as he saw Richie and Sparky running away from his ‘spring’. Ash sighed as he
got ready to prepare another trap.
“Whew,
that was close Sparky, wasn’t it?” asked Richie. Sparky nodded, shivering
violently. “I wonder where Misty is?” asked Richie. Sparky shrugged and kept
running. Richie followed. Finally, they spotted a small cave. They headed
inside, since it was starting to rain.
Richie
and Sparky sat next to the fire, which Zippo had lit with his tail. They were
enjoying canned food. “Poor Misty. She probably got blasted by that fake
water…” Richie sighed. * Why did I agree to try and kill Charles? I don’t
understand-maybe I was drunk or something…* Richie sighed and stirred his soup.
Things were really getting out of hand. He fervently hoped that Misty was O.K.
Ash
watched the storm brew from his castle in the clouds. Perhaps a pokémon would
be needed to lure Richie out. Hmm, maybe Mewtwo could do it… Ash summoned
Mewtwo and commanded him to lure Richie out. Mewtwo made a little bow and flew
into the cave. In an instant, Richie, Sparky, and Happy were chasing Mewtwo.
Ash closed his eyes as he gathered energy in his body. Suddenly, his eyes
snapped wide-open and golden energy shot from his body.
Down
below, Richie was suddenly hit by an unknown attack. It was enough to kill a
legendary pokémon, much less a human. Soon, there was nothing left but a pile
of charred stuff. (Ugh! I really hate describing this!) Zippo, Happy, Smelly,
Sparky, Tentacruel, and Venomoth quickly got out of there. Their master was
dead, and there was nothing they could do.
And in
his castle, Ash Ketchum laughed.
Okay,
fine! Here is the information!

grass-green horse with a wreath of red fire flowers around her neck. She was
caught on Fire Island. She also has red-gold wings made of fire and red-gold

3. Flaming Thunder- Fire mixed with
electricity.
4. Eternity Thunder- The counterpart to all
the other Eternity attacks. Excellent against Eternity Flood, very poor against
Eternity Freeze. (Note: You might have to read my other fanfics to find out
about the other eternity attacks.)
