Chapter 4: Pretty Ugly
“Latias, use Attract!”
Red’s Aerodactyl suddenly developed hearts around its head.
“Bad feeling…” Red said, as it began flying back to Katrina. * Ack! Make that very bad feeling! *
“Aeroy, Hyper Beam!”
To his shock, the pokemon refused to attack.
“I knew you’d see it my way…” Katrina purred, as she glomped him. Red shrieked and tried to fight her off, but it would have been easier wrestling an octopus! She clung. Hard.
“Let go of
me!”
“Oh no you don’t! You’re
mine!”
“ITAI!”
Red fumbled for another pokeball, but that was when Katrina grabbed a particularly sensitive part of his anatomy and he yelped, dropping it. He might have been a kid, but he still had hormones!
Down, down, down, the little red and white ball fell.
On the ground, a freed Gyarados looked around puzzled, before looking up and glaring at the strange girl.
A Hyper Beam blasted Katrina out of the sky.
“Latias, attract on that one!”
Latias did, but…
According to theory, if both pokemon were out they couldn’t both be under Attract’s spell. Aerodactyl broke free as Gyarados succumbed.
The ancient dragon roared, and another Hyper Beam hit, this one knocking Katrina off her Latias.
Then, spell broken temporarily, Gyarados kicked up a Dragon Rage, distracting Latias while Aerodactyl charged yet another Hyper Beam and downed the pokemon.
Latias quickly fled.
She hadn’t wanted such an arrogant and stupid trainer! Plus, she wanted to go back home where she belonged.
The bird beat a fast trip back to Houen.
FREEDOM! YES!!!
Lance
smiled. * One down… this should be easy then, so I won’t have to interfere. I
can continue waiting. *
Red
seethed. “Sheesh, what’s with her?”
He still felt sore… in more
ways than one.
Sighing, he decided he might as well set up camp, that way at least he’d have some temporary peace and quiet.
Stress the temporary… that night he was awakened sometime around 1 A.M. by the same crazy girl.
Red screamed and took off, never mind that he was in his pajamas. He crashed into someone else’s tent after running at least twelve miles in socks before he realized it. Katrina was still hot on his heals.
“What’s with her?!” Red gasped, trying to regain his breath. He then noticed with much trepidation that she wasn’t breathing hard, and not a single strand of pure, pink hair was out of place.
That was not normal…
“Don’t be so shy, Red! I’m all for it no matter what age you are!”
“Hentai!” Red screamed.
Charlotte rubbed her eyes, wondering where her tent had gone and _why_ she had suddenly wound up freezing cold in her sleeping bag.
Her tent was gone?
She grabbed a couple of vanilla frappuchinos from her backpack, chugged them all down in less than twenty seconds, and waited for her brain to clear.
Tent gone. Check.
Boy in pajamas being chased by crazy girl? Check.
Source of tent destruction found? Check.
Losing
sleep? Definitely!
“NINETAILS! ARCANINE! RAPIDASH! FIRE BLAST!”
The three pokemon hit Katrina, who was the visible culprit, Red having dived behind a convenient tree.
Ash breathed a sigh of relief.
“Stupid bakas… they should be sleeping like normal people.” Charlotte said. Having expended all the coffee provided energy with one blast of anger, she grabbed her tent out of the tree it had landed in, pounded the spikes into the ground haphazardly, recalled her pokemon, and stumbled back inside, where she fell asleep in mere seconds.
Ash quickly began trying to find his way back to his own camp. Alas, his direction sense was as bad as ever and he soon found himself at yet another campsite.
Sighing, he knocked on the tent flap.
Bugsy stuck
his head out and blinked. “Um… hello?”
“Could you tell me where I
am?”
“… Doesn’t your pokédex have a map?” Bugsy asked, still half-asleep.
Why was there someone knocking on his tent flap at 2 A.M.?
Red frowned, then shrugged and began walking slowly back to his campsite. He found it somewhere in the vicinity of four hours later and slept until noon that day.
Luckily, Katrina had not found him again.
What was _with_ that crazy girl?
And why was she obsessed with him? He hadn’t ever seen her before! And the prophecy about her, being some kind of legendary was most likely false.
Those were just lies, right?
Right.
Red continued on his way, not quite sure where he was going. It wasn’t safe to stay around here with *shudder* Katrina around.
Was she insane?
Why didn’t she like _Green_? He was the one who had won at the championships!
That was another mystery to ponder.
And how had
she found him?
Ash kicked the thoughts out
the window. “I guess I’ll go to Johto or Houen then, that seems the safest…”
