Misty shrieked as Fearow’s beak drilled through Ash’s chest, sending blood splattering everywhere. “ASH!”

Okay, so he was a whiny, annoying spoiled brat. But he still owed her a bike. And she wasn’t going to let him die until it was paid back.

Fearow cawed wildly and charged towards Brock next.

            “Jolteon, Thunderbolt!”

            Fearow was suddenly flung backwards.

            “WHAT?!” Tyson roared.

A young girl jumped down from a Skarmory’s back. “Jolteon, give them all a Thunderwave!”

            The rockets dropped down, paralyzed.

Misty and Brock were still frozen.

“What are you two doing?! He needs to get to a hospital immediately! What are you doing here anyways?’

            “Er… we got lost-.”

“Never mind, explain later!” The girl said. “Gardevoir, I choose you! Teleport them to the hospital!”

            *Ring, ring*

Lance sighed as he picked up his cell phone. “Yes, what is it… WHAT?!”

“Baka, you were supposed to be there to rescue him!”

“I was unavoidably detained by Serebii. But tell me, how bad is it?”

“Bad enough, you’d better give him the you-know-what.”

“Which hospital did you send them to?”

“Mahogany general, you’d better hurry, he only has about fifteen minutes left.”

“Gotcha. I am so going to kill Serebii for doing this to her Chosen.”

            “See ya.”

Lance quickly teleported to the hospital. There, he saw Misty and Brock and Pikachu by the bed of Ash while a doctor was giving the prognosis.

“Looks like its too late, there’s nothing we can do for him.”

“Damn you Ash! You can’t die!” Misty spat. “You still owe me a bike!”

“Is that all she thinks about?” Lance muttered softly as he walked in. “Excuse me.”

            Ash’s eyes lit up slightly… “Lance-chan?”

“Hai, its me. Don’t worry, you won’t die.”

“How dare you barge in here!” The doctor spluttered.

Lance fixed the man with a stare that would have frozen a magmar. “Out. Now.”

            “B-but the patient!”

“You already said nothing could be done. Well, I have something I want to try. You have nothing to lose.” Lance said, his voice taking on a compelling tone. The doctor quickly exited, though he did not know why.

“What are you going to do?” Brock asked.

“What does it matter, as long as Ash stays alive?” Misty demanded.

Lance ignored their bickering and bent down towards Ash’s neck. Sharp white fangs slid out from their sheaths and gently pierced the young trainer’s throat.

            < Shh… don’t worry Ash,> Lance sent. < I’ll just take a little from you. >

Ash nodded his assent; then lost himself as a wave of energy seemed to wash over his body. When he blinked the spots away from his eyes, Lance had already pulled away. Ash stared, as the wound in his chest had simply disappeared.

< You’ll be fine now, little one. >
            < Hai, thanks, Lance-chan. >

< You called me that again. >
< I know… I think my memories came back because I was about to die. Why didn’t you save me earlier? I could do without the beak through the chest… >

            < Ask Serebii; she’s your pokemon. >

*Mental nod* < I am going to get Serebii for this… >

“AAHHHHHHHHHHH! You’re a vampire!” Misty screamed.

“Well, if I weren’t, your friend would no longer be alive right now.” Lance said practically.

Brock took several deep breaths to calm down, reminding himself that he had certainly seen stranger things. “But… how can you be out in the daytime?”

“Let’s see…” Lance started ticking off on his fingers. “I’m a Dragon Master, that certainly helps, and a master of ice as well…”

Misty took out the door screaming. Unfortunately, she bumped into the girl who had sent Ash into the hospital in the first place.

“Mantine! Supersonic, go!” The girl said. Misty had no time to react before she crumpled with confusion swirls for eyes.

“She’s all yours, Ice Guardian!” The girl said to Lance before she vanished in a swirl of crimson flames.

“Thanks, Fire guardian.” Lance replied as he touched something hidden underneath his jacket and Misty vanished.

“Is there something going on that I should know about?” Brock ventured to ask.

“I guess it wouldn’t hurt to tell you.” Lance said. “I’m a girl.”

            Brock’s jaw dropped.

“No, my hair isn’t naturally pink, I hate pink, but it was the only hair dye I could find… stupid contacts, anything else you need to know?” Lance asked, taking the brown contacts out of her eyes, revealing that they were a light blue color.

< Don’t flirt with her or else you’ll pay? > Ash added, making Brock jump. “Ash?!”

            < Yep, I’m part telepathic, isn’t that cool? >

“I need some aspirin to deal with this.’ The Pewter trainer mumbled and exited.

“One amnesia treatment, coming up.” Lance said, as her eyes turned silver and Brock tumbled over, fainted. “So… how has your journey been?”

“Quite bad, without my memories nothing works.” Ash said truthfully. “And you didn’t give me the dreams this time.”

“Sorry, thought you wouldn’t need them.” Lance said. “But don’t worry, I can solve this problem. All we have to do is rewind time.”

“Gotcha.” Ash said. He pulled out his destiny’s amulet. “Summon Serebii…”

            And Serebii appeared, looking ruffled.

“Serebii, I have my memories back now. And I don’t appreciate what you did to this timeline. So, I’m giving you a chance to rewind time and give us all another chance. If this is another test…”

Serebii gulped and nodded. A green glow surrounded the group…

End Prologue

Timeline: 10 years later, rewound back, so Ash is about to start his pokemon journey, again.

“I’m setting off for the Cosmos league, mom!” Ash said. “Aneki said she’d pick me up at the airport!”
“All right, Ash.” His mom said, waving goodbye. “Remember to change your underwear!”

            “I know!”
At the airport, Charlotte picked Ash up. She was dressed in a proper black and white schoolgirl’s uniform and wearing a backpack.

            “Hi lil’ brother!”

“Aneki Char-chan!” Ash said, hugging her. “I missed you!”

“Don’t worry,” Charlotte said, ruffling his hair. “Aniki will be here soon.”

“Yay!” Ash cheered. He smiled happily. “This will be the best journey ever!”

Soon, Lance showed up on ‘his’ Dragonite.

“Aniki!” Ash cheered. “I haven’t seen you for a month, Lance-chan!”

‘Shh.” Lance whispered as she enveloped the younger trainer in a hug. “Let’s go.”

            Ash grinned broadly and nodded.

            “So, where to first?”

“Ne, I’m not sure.” Ash said, grinning adorably.

            “Ash…” the two trainers sweatdropped.

“I’ll think of something!” He promised.

“At least life is never, ever boring around him.”

            ‘Too true…”

And so, they walked off into the sunset.
