Hiya! Part 3 is here! :) Sorry for taking so long, but I’m a very busy student. :( I know this doesn’t confer to the anime storyline very much. That’s the point! If some events seem out of order, I put A.J.’s gym in the forest after Pewter, BEFORE Mt. Moon, okay?

Disclaimer: I do not own pokemon. You all know what I do own.

Part 3: Mount Moon and what happened afterwards.

Ash, A.J., and an annoyed Misty were traveling through some forest or another. They were on their way to Mount Moon. Neither Ash nor A.J. could cook, so they had been surviving on cold canned ravioli and Spam. Misty had been complaining endless about the fare, but what could she do? She couldn’t cook either.

“So why are ya following Ash around?” A.J. asked. “Do ya like him or something like that?”

“NO!” Misty shouted, and out came the mallet. A.J. ended up flattened on the ground.

“Ow! That hurt! What was dat for?” A.J. complained.

“My bike! Ash wrecked my bike! How could I like somebody like him?” Misty shouted in his ear. A.J. winced.

“Hey look! A Zubat!” Ash shouted from several feet away. A.J. ran over. They both stared in awe at the gigantic Zubat.

“Woah! I want ta capture it!” A.J. said. “Beedrill, go!” His Beedrill appeared, pincers whirring as it studied the Zubat.

“Beedrill! Use your Poison Sting!” Beedrill obediently fired a needle tipped with poison at the Zubat, which got cross-eyed as it was poisoned.

“All right! Beedrill, Twin Needle!” Two needles flew at the Zubat in rapid succession. In the next moment, A.J. had thrown a poke ball and captured it.

“That was cool, A.J.!” Ash said. “But why would a Zubat be out here? My pokédex says that they live in caves.”

“We might be close ta Mt. Moon.” A.J. said. Ash’s eyes lit up.

“Mount Moon! Do you think so?” Ash cried ecstatically.

“Mount Moon…” Misty said. * We’ll reach Cerulean City if we go through Mt. Moon… *

“Um, I don’t want to go.” She said.

“What?! Why? There are Clefairy there!” Ash said, waving his pokédex around in some kind of frenzy. A.J. wasn’t much better off, he was whooping out loud and doing handsprings. Misty rolled her eyes.

“Boys are so immature.” She muttered. Then, she snapped at Ash. “I don’t like caves! They’re full of creepy creatures!”

“Fine! But you’ll be da one crying when we get Clefairy and you don’t!” A.J. shouted. “Let’s go Ash!”

“Yeah!” Let’s go!” Ash said, taking off after him. Pidgeot chirruped. (Humans are so strange…)

Once they got to Mt. Moon, Ash recalled Pidgeot and sent out Pikachu to Flash their way through the cave. A.J. followed with his Sandshrew on his shoulder. A few minutes later, Ash noticed that there were electric lights on the walls.

“Hey A.J., do you know where these electric lights came from?” Ash asked. A.J. looked around.

“Nope. Maybe somebody installed dem here so people wouldn’t hurt themselves wandering around in darkness.” A.J. suggested. “Look! There are Paras and Geodudes all ova da place! Ain’t dat cool! Let’s go catch some!”

“Great idea!” Ash said. “Bulbasaur, go! Vine Whip on that Geodude!” Bulbasaur Vine whipped the Geodude, which lowered its HP. “All right! Poke ball, go!”

The poke ball opened and sucked up Geodude. “Yeah! I got Geodude!” Ash said, doing his victory pose. Meanwhile, A.J. had caught a Paras and was in an extremely good mood also. They wandered through the cavern for a while, before Ash spotted a Clefairy.

“A.J. look! A Clefairy!” Ash said.

“All right! I wanna capture it!” A.J. said. They both ran after the Clefairy, but soon they found themselves in an empty cavern surrounded by hundreds of Clefairy. In the center was a huge sparkly blue rock.

“Wow. Is that the moon stone?” Ash asked, pulling out his pokédex. It chirped. “Moon stone. Scientists suspect these were created when meteorites fell on earth. They can be used to evolve certain types of pokemon.”

“Look at all dem Clefairy. If you can catch some…” A.J. said, daydreaming. “Dat would really help our ratings!”

“Yeah!” Ash said. “All right, Pidgeot, go! Use Sand Attack to blind them!”

“Butterfree, go! Sleep Powder!” A.J. shouted. Many Clefairy that were slow to escape fell asleep.

Ash and A.J. both threw poke balls at the Clefairy. After they each captured one, they collected a few moon stone fragments and headed towards the Mt. Moon exit.

Ash debated which pokemon he should send to Professor Oak. The professor only had his Ledyba and Geodude right now, but Ash didn’t want to give his Clefairy to Oak for safekeeping just yet. Since Clefairy was a rare pokemon, Ash didn’t want any unscrupulous trainers trying to steal it.

“A.J., which pokémon are you carrying around?” Ash asked.

A.J. scratched his head. “Sandshrew, Beedrill, Butterfree, Zubat, Paras, Rattata, and a Nidoran ♂. What about ya?”

“Pidgeot, Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Butterfree, Beedrill, and Fearow.” Ash said. “How come you can carry seven pokémon?”

A.J. shrugged. “I don’t know. I can carry as many pokémon as my backpack can hold. Also, the person who was sponsoring me died two years ago. That’s why I started me own gym, so I could keep as many pokemon as I wanted.”

“Hmm… Well, I don’t need two flying pokémon or two bug pokémon, so I’ll send Beedrill to Professor Oak.” Ash said. Beedrill’ poke ball flickered as it was teleported to Oak. Ash picked up Clefairy’ ball and he put it on his belt.

Meanwhile, two pairs of binoculars watched. “Dat twerp’s got a Clefairy now! Dat is a rare pokemon!” Meowth said.

“We should steal it.” Jessie stated matter-of-factly.

“Yeah.” James said. “Let’s wait until they get out of this cave. I’m getting claustrophobic.”

Ash and A.J. spent a few days getting acquainted with their new Clefairy’, which didn’t seem to mind captivity too much. They hadn’t run into any other trainers, which was slightly depressing, but there was plenty of time to explore and train against wild pokémon.

Ash and A.J. were sitting by a stream trying to catch water pokémon without any Rods. So far, all they had fished up were battered tin cans and old clothes.

“This stream is full of trash!” Ash protested.

A.J. nodded solemnly. “This will lead ta trouble for the people who get their water from this source…”

“Did someone say trouble?” A voice cut in.

“And make it double!” Another voice said. Jessie and James jumped out of a tree and landed in front of Ash and A.J.

“To protect the world from devastation!”

“To unite all people within our nation!”

“To denounce the evils of truth and love!”

“To extend our reach to the stars above!”

“Jessie!”

“James!”

“Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!”

“Surrender now or prepare to fight!”

“Meowth, that’s right!”

“Hand over all your pokemon!” Jessie shouted.

“Never!” Ash shouted. “Pikachu, Thundershock!” Unfortunately, the rockets were wearing protective electric-repelling rubber suits. The attack bounced off and hit Pikachu, knocking her out.

“Pikachu!” Ash said, running over. A.J. decided he didn’t want to just stand around.

“Sandshrew, go! Fissure!” A.J. shouted. Sandshrew sent a Fissure attack at the Rockets, which blasted them off.  Unfortunately, Jessie was smart enough to send out Ekans and anchor themselves onto a tree. From the treetop they had a distinct advantage.

“Ekans, Poison Sting!” Jessie shouted. Ekans sent out tons of poison needles at Sandshrew, who was poisoned and keeled over.

“Sandshrew, Return!” A.J. said, shocked that Sandshrew had lost. “Butterfree, go! Use your Confusion attack on that Ekans!”

“Koffing, Smokescreen!” James shouted, having recovered from being head-butted against a tree. Koffing spewed out a layer of toxic smoke, blocking the Rockets from view. Meanwhile, Meowth jumped out of the tree and had scratched Ash across the face, distracting him, before nabbing the fainted Pikachu.

“Grr. Clefairy, Fearow, go!” Ash shouted. Clefairy and Fearow materialized outside of their poke balls and flew towards the trees, which had been cleared of Smog by Butterfree’ Whirlwind attack.

“Clefairy, Metronome on Meowth! Fearow, use Drill Peck on Jessie!” Ash shouted.

“Butterfree, Confusion on Koffing!” A.J. shouted. The resulting attack knocked out Koffing. Meanwhile, Clefairy’ Metronome had K.O.’d Meowth and Jessie had been too distracted by Fearow’ attacks to direct her Ekans.

“Paras, go! Use Spore on Ekans!” A.J. shouted. Paras shot a steady stream of spores at Ekans, putting it to sleep. Jessie was also hit by the attack, so she was off in dreamland.

“Looks like we’re outnumbered!” James wailed, before realizing that he was the only member still awake. “Yikes!”

“Clefairy, Double Slap!” Ash shouted, as Clefairy slapped the Team so hard that James, Jessie, and Meowth flew through the air. The cold air woke up Jessie, just in time to scream, “Looks like Team Rocket’s blasting off again!”

“Who were those creeps?” A.J. asked. Ash groaned.

“That was Team Rocket. They go after rare pokémon.” He moaned. “They think my pokemon are powerful, so they want to capture them.

“Oh.” A.J. said. “By the way, where is Misty?”

“She left us a week ago.” Ash said. “Didn’t you notice?”

“Uh, no.” A.J. said. Ash sweatdropped. “Never mind. Let’s head for Cerulean!”
