Chapter 2

“Ash is still not back yet.” Professor Oak said as he cleaned his lab. “I wonder where he is?”

            “Gramps!” A voice called.

Oak stood up as Blue landed on Charizard’s back. “What is it, Blue?” There was a trainer with him.

“It’s no use. I’ve scoured Kanto along with Green, and we haven’t seen a trace of Red. But there’s something bothering me.”

            “Oh?”

“For the past months, the pokemon have been acting strangely. I heard a rumor… of a trainer, an unbeatable trainer who calls himself Ash, and an organization known as the Elite Four…”

            “And?”

“I set off to find this ‘Ash’, and I guess you could say I did.”

            “So what’s all this about?”

            “Gramps… Ash is Red.”

Professor Oak shook his head. “No, Blue, you must have been mistaken.”

“I’m serious! It was Red. He was wearing a black outfit with a gold cloak, but it was him all right.”

            “Where is he?”

“I found him near Mount Moon. If I hadn’t known he was Red, I would have thought he was some kind of a super trainer. But… he seemed like a totally different person. He demanded to know what I was doing, and…”

*FLASHBACK MODE*

“Hey Red! What are you doing?” Blue called. “It’s been months since I last saw you!”
The trainer looked up.  He was training an Aerodactyl. “Who are you and what are you doing here?”

            “What do you mean?”
“I am Ashura. I do not know this Red.” Ash said. “Now leave.”

Blue frowned. “Now Red, cut it out. This is important.”

            “Aerodactyl, Wing Attack.”

“Whoa!” Blue said, jumping onto Charizard just in time. “What do you think you’re doing?!”

            “Aerodactyl, Rock Slide, now.”

Aerodactyl nodded and sent a hail of rocks at Charizard, damaging it badly. Blue recalled it and swapped for his Scyther. “What the hell are you doing, Red?!”

The trainer turned around, and Gary gasped. His eyes were a blazing yellow. “Aerodactyl, Supersonic!”

Blue gasped as the supersonic waves sent his head spinning. He was barely aware of the trainer escaping before he blacked out…

*END FLASHBACK MODE*

            “Blue, is this true?”

            “Would I lie to you?”

            “Was Red being controlled?”

“Eh? I didn’t think of that.” Gary said. “Now that you mention it… he was wearing these gold bracelets…”

“If he is being controlled by the Elite Four, than we are in danger.”

            “Gramps, what do you mean?”

Professor Oak sighed. “I have heard of the Elite Four. They are a group of trainers dedicated to making the world better for pokemon… by eradicating most of the human population.”

            ‘WHAT?!”

“They will strike soon, Gary. Do you know where their headquarters are?”

            “No…”

“Then I will tell you.” Oak said. “You remember fighting Agatha two years ago, right?”

            “Right. She mentioned you. How?”

            “She was my fiancé…’

            “And?” Blue prompted.

“We broke up when I decided to create the pokédex instead of working on pokemon control experiments with the rest of the scientists. She called me a sentimental old fool, and declared that the Elite Four would take over when the time was right.”

“I found out from a captured pokemon that their Headquarters were on Cerise Island. They were spying on you and Red during the League Finals, did you know?”

            “No.”

“If they can control pokemon, they may very well be able to control Red.”

“So what can we do?” Blue asked.

“The Elite Four are after the collective energy of the badges. Find Green. We’ll need her help. And who are you?” He asked the trainer.

“I’m Yellow. Red saved my life two years ago. I’d like to help.”

“Very well. And I’ll find Blaine. He will help as well.”

            “It is time.” Lance said.

Lorelei nodded. “Ice types take care of Celadon… Ghost types for Cerulean… grass and water types for Pewter…”

            *RING, RING!*

            “Hello?” Oak asked.

“This is Misty from Cerulean! We’re under attack!”

“This is Erika! Celadon is under attack as well!”

Brock nodded as he called Oak as well. “And Pewter is under attack!”

“Blue! You and Yellow set off right now! Green will follow!” Oak said. “And I’ve called Blaine, he’s on his way!”

The two nodded and took off on Charizard.

Soon, the complete group had reached the Island.

“Looks like we have infiltrators, Lance.” Lorelei said.

Lance smiled as he stroked his Aerodactyl’s head. “Let them come.”

            “I’ll go prepare a suitable reception…”

At the same time, the three Team Rocket agents had reached the island as well.

“Koga, should we split up?” Sabrina asked.

“There’s only three of us, but there’s four of them.”

Koga looked startled. “I do not know.”

“Can we afford to wait?” Surge growled.

Koga looked exasperated and flung his hands up in the air.

Footsteps sounded behind them, and as they whirled around, they saw a few familiar, if unpleasant, faces.
